Confirmed that Fennelly leaving Offaly now alright.....Thought he would get another year as he's after making good progress with a young group and Offaly were having big problems before he came in but infairness he's leaving on a high.

Himself and Eddie Brennan in contention for Waterford job if rumours are true.

He got them out of the Christy Ring Cup in his 2nd year and was very unlucky not to qualify for the Mcdonagh Cup final only losing out on scoring difference in the end....Has raised them from being on a big low, got everyone pulling in the one direction with a very young crop.

I agree with the previous posters about Glanbia.first of all they have all Kilkenny jerseys right across the board secondly they actually questioned were they getting value for money,(that’s some joke). Glanbia’s contribution has changed little over the years. They got Hugh exposure when we were going well.As was mentioned earlier there are certainly a few local companies who would take on separate teams across the board but the county board are way too conservative in there outlook and don’t want to upset the status quo. An awful lot of things will have to change people complain about the county board,but it’s the clubs will have to make the changes and send in the best people to get the best return.

Yeah Jimmy Walsh has to step down as his 5 years is up. Conor Denniffe is off to headquarters by all accounts. All the 5 year terms are up so none of the current executive can continue in their current roles so there will hopefully be a shake up.

The rumour is that Ned Quinn is making a move to come back and reassume the roll of chairman. Usually the county board is just a big turn of moving chairs every 5 years.

Either way even if there was a new county board executive elected later in the year they won't be choosing our next manager.

Hawkwing. I was responding to cobservations made about the Limerick. I would also that Limerick County Board also 'milk' recent successes well. The charge for the Banquet after was 150 Euro and 800 of us thought it was worth it. After all when will we see a 3 in a row again. Large pictures of the team and other memorabilia etc are also commanding big money. Other companies like Cavanaghs in Charleville have also rowed in behind them It is a classic case of everyone wanting to know a winner, whereas as when we were down nobody wantedu h to do with us. Remember too lads had a more advanced approach going way back to the days that Fr Tommy Murphy and your excellent Co Board put superior structures in place for the development of young hurlers.

Most other successful counties have been ahead of the frame at some time or other.

Loughnane is some piece of work, but he isn't wrong about the ego.

I think its only 4 overage next year. Tallis,Purcell,moylan and hickey. Beirne and Hughes were injured this year and will be an addition next year. Danny glennon and a few others will hopefully be thereabouts.

I heard Derek refused the senior job so that probably throws a little spanner in the works. I hope the county board have their finger out and a committee set up interviewing candidates.Rumours of Eddie and fennelly being linked with the Waterford job and dublin and Laois also have vacancies.

IMO anyone who has aspirations to manage the Kilkenny Senior Hurling team will not turn down the job. They may never get another chance. Fr Tommy was there for over 20 years and Brian 24 years.

In reality Limerick probably should have the best finances after Dublin Cork and Galway although this isn't how it actually works out. Ya Limerick and Galway are level both both above Cork and below Mayo and Kerry last year.

Unless you change the whole way sponsors work in GAA Kilkenny will never bring in the money of the big counties in sponsorship, jerseys or gates unless it gets a sugar daddy (which I assume Wexford must have)

Jim Bolger helps in the background in Wexford but not to JP levels, streaming service for club games over Covid did well too but don't think it explains that much of a surplus.

Hm. I thought the Bridge were full value for their win. Nicky Cleere was awarded a 21 for what I thought was a stone cold penalty in the second half. The first half was close but the Bridge were by far the better team in the second half. Blanchfield (D) and Nicky Cleere were flying for the Bridge. Buckley looked very ordinary in my opinion. Gaffney was the only Boro forward to make an impact.

It's some indictment of the Boro that they can look so ordinary with all their underage success. Maybe Mickey is holding them back or maybe he had them running up sand dunes this morning. On that display they won't put it up to the likes of Shamrocks, Loughlins or the Village this year.

Not suggesting the Boro should have won by any means but to say they had zero goal threat isn't correct.

Their underage success at under 17 was in the last 3 years. That means the oldest would be 19/20. I'd be giving them another few years to mature before writing them off.

Paddy Deegan was played in the O'Loughlins forwards today which is the best place for him. I'm not saying he's a standout player in the forwards but he ain't a great back for sure. Hopefully the new management team take note. Heary may be developing into a fine player. Huw Lawlor is immense.
