    Thanks, will do.

I haven't actually heard anything from the company sincing paying for the watch not even an acknowledgement.

Out of office from the person I had been in touch with.

All sorted now, number worked on the third attempt. They are adjusting the bracelet and hopefully posting tomorrow.

A Cameron went up for sale on adverts today from a dealer here in Ireland that several of the regular posters here have bought from (myself included). He's asking for €18k and it's the earlier model. Personally I would hold out for the newer model with better proportioned lugs and bracelet

he's also selling a speedy with strap and no bracelet for 5.5k... someone said my price was ambitious :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,640 ✭✭✭✭unkel

Well he is a dealer, needs to put bread on the table. And you do have come back from him. A bit like second hand cars, they cost a good bit more from a garage with warranty than from a private seller (sold as seen, caveat emptor)

if you buy a watch from him and it has a problem does he provide warranty? or will it be use the oem warranty if its left?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,640 ✭✭✭✭unkel

Of course he will provide warranty. And you have come back if there is anything else wrong with the watch, if it turns out to be non genuine, etc.

That said, it is still pricey for what it is. For that sort of money, from a dealer, I would expect a 126660

Is he actually a dealer? Does he use any other platform other than adverts?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,640 ✭✭✭✭unkel

He's a dealer. I'm not aware he uses any other platform other than adverts.ie and private whatsapp groups. Several of us have bought from him though, trustworthy & nice guy.

Hmmmmm. Not sure how much comeback you would really have.

Does he have a business name?

but agree he is a nice guy.

but how nice would he be if you identified a stolen watch in your possession 6 months later……lol

He’s a nice guy but he’s not a legit trader in any way . I would trust the watches for being genuine but if it turned out as a stolen watch I doubt the refund would be quickly coming .But that’s the same with any private watch purposes .

€18k for a JC is mad and €5500 for a speedie on a strap is crazy as well. Just seen a bluesy for €20k pop on adverts from a different seller. The news of softening prices mustn’t be hitting adverts sellers yet .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,640 ✭✭✭✭unkel

€17-18k is the going rate for a JC 126660, you can get the earlier model for a few grand less. It's about 25% over retail, which is less than most steel sport Rolex, so I don't think mad is the word for it at all. A boggo sub for 25% over retail would make it €11k, you can't get one (current model) for that.

You’d be doing well to get a newish sub for €11k. At €18k though I’d be spending it on a Batman or Starbucks but JC is a higher retail so I don’t know anymore .Until prices calm down I’ve given up on Rolex .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,640 ✭✭✭✭unkel

That's my point. You won't get a new model sub for €11k, which is 25% over retail. The same as a €17.5k JC current model is.

In my view paying 25% over retail for a boggo no date sub is slightly more mad than paying 25% over retail for a far more interesting and less common Rolex sports watch 😀

But yeah I agree, I wouldn't be so sure if there is only one way from here, come a massive recession and I can see the values of even relatively well grey priced Rolex sports come down. The GMT Master II are all overpriced imho at far more than 25% over retail

There was a new model one on TZ for 15.5k euro this week. Not sure of sold or if he has wiggle room but you always assume there is 500 quid to be had off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 10,582 ✭✭✭✭893bet

100 percent charging dealer prices and there is zero comeback really.

seen that bluesy. Suspect there is a lot of two tone and date just owners a little nervous having a lot of them bought watches they didn’t want as they though they were building a relationship etc. But who knows. Stock does seem to still be moving.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,640 ✭✭✭✭unkel

It was GBP13.5k (almost €16k) and it sold immediately (on a Sunday morning!) - no doubt for full price. It was a typical TZ case of someone "selling back into the forum for what I paid for it". He could have asked for a good bit more and it would also have sold within days.

Lol. Nothing like a lad trigger about his watch dropping in value.

There is ones on C24 for 17-17.5k from dealers In Europe. So if you think a private sale is also 17-18k then well.

15-16k on an very good day private sale.

On the below phase we are at the “unease” phase 😅

one thing Thomas on adverts isnt is cheap .He seems to set his sell prices by Chrono 24 and set his buy prices on the basis of the seller must be desperate .Going by some of the instagram watch traders I follow €15k seems to be a realistic price for the JC .

selling back into the forum for what I paid for it

@893bet unlike a certain moonwatch from not too long ago …..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,640 ✭✭✭✭unkel

Oh no I realise full well that all Rolex steel sports have dropped in value in the last month or two. Not being defensive about that at all. Not nearly as much as our pension funds / stock market portfolios and crypto though 🤣

Looks like we haven't seen the end of it either.

BTW either of you have any proof of a JC 126660 selling for €15k recently or are you both just making that up? Cheapest one for sale in the EU last time I looked was €17.5k on chrono, there is simply no way you could get €2.5k off that.

@893bet - "15-16k on an very good day private sale." OK go on then, you buy one for €15k in the next day or two, I'll give you €15.5k for it. Instant €500 profit for you for nothing. I dare you.

Oh wait, you can't manage to do that? Thought as much. You're not doing much for your credibility.

Yeah seems to be the earlier model all right around €15k no way I’d pay €3k more for a slightly updated model though , doubt many people are .

there’s a good few 1266600 for around €17k on Chrono and less the 6/7% for buying direct brings you near €16k , so closer to the €15k than €18k

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 10,582 ✭✭✭✭893bet

Ooooh triggered! My credibility is pretty intact.

C24 prices are fantasy. 17-18k are fantasy for private sale. We have just seen one selling for 15.7 on TZ and you are arguing about the range. Though I do understand you don’t consider watch condition when buying from what I have seen.

Sadly my wrist is not 1/4 of an inch above average so I can’t pull this off. Stick yours up for 17.5k so and watch it languish.

@scwazrh thsts is the older version in fairness

Thank you, that is a fabulous watch.

Any idea on the commission that would be applied on top of the same price 10-15%?
