Lovely bright and sunny since this afternoon once the rain cleared in Kerry, could feel the slightly humid air making it feel warmer than the 11 or 12C it got up to . Breeze dried up the hard surfaces well.

We had very little rain in Arklow yesterday which lasted less than an hour

We've had a flood of rain for 20 minutes just now from this squal line shower though with hail 👇

Showers with some hail this afternoon after a glorious morning here near Bawnboy in Cavan.

These lads outside our AirBnB are a bit miffed with it all.

Talk of a Frost in the early hours tonight and the next few nights. Careful if you have tender garden plants out.

Lovely bright sunny day here in Kerry with heavy showers early this morning and a couple more this evening also, nice in the sun when moving about but needing a jacket, cool enough in the breeze just getting up to 10.3C and currently a cool 6.1C

one of the few really nice days this April, a beautiful day here in Meath.

and the good news is that we may well be now heading into an extended period of relatively dry weather which may last into the first week of May and temperatures will begin to lift up towards the high teens to perhaps 20 or 21C by the start of May, fingers crossed.

Edit: This evenings ensembles say no to a warm up end of April/1st week of May. Instead we have blocking and very cool easterlies/north-easterlies about 3 months too late.

It is stunning here in NCD.

5 year old even complained it was too hot😄

The cloud that was forecast to be on Western coastal fringes yesterday is now halfway across the country. So May's weather could be roasting or freezing or both coz they can't even predict weather 12 hours hence. Actual (today) v Forecast(yesterday)

Just had lunch outside in the warm unbroken sunshine, a peach of a day. If only we could have this every day until mid October.

hazy sun today in Meath but nothing like yesterdays warmth, that wind chill would cut you in two.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,653 ✭✭✭appledrop

Yep spot on Gonzo was just going to post the same.

The auld wind would cut you in two in park, but lovely in sheltered back garden in sunshine.

Beautiful evening here in the west. 18 degrees at Belmullet in a light easterly wind

Lovely day in Kerry getting quite mild if somewhat warm feeling in the afternoon getting up to around 16C or so, probably a bit warmer in town, was walking around in short sleeves.

Still quite mild tonight, out cutting the grass until about 21.00 and just dropped below 12C a moment ago.

Pic : Tulips looked vibrant in the sunshine around 14.00

A mad auld day weather wise here in North County Dublin.

I was dressed in spring outfit this morning as nice + sunny.

Then had to get redressed before heading to park as it turned freezing cold with bitter wind and some light rain.

Now it's lovely and sunny out there again this evening although still chilly in that wind😎.

Wtf is the story with the wind in Dublin?

    Absolutely sick of it now.

It has ruined the nice weather of last few days as even when sun is shining wind is freezing.

Onshore breeze a feature in the East of the country for a number of days to come, cool at this time of year as it originates from a N N/E direction and passing over relatively cool seas, winds in Kerry coming from the S/E , E and often pick up a a bit of warmth as it passes over the land. Very pleasant this morning at 11.7C in good sunshine, not warm by no means yet but can feel the air warmer nearer the house where it is already radiating off the blockwork and concrete. Makings of a great day.

Pic of the garden a short time ago, growth picking up pace, saw my first Swallows yesterday and flying around this morning again. Relative Humidity nice and low at 74%. Very little rain forecast for the next week or so.

Cold and of course that breeze is there. Not a bad day if your sitting in the car or indoors.m but once you go out there’s a breeze that would cut you.

A beautiful day here in the west again ,clear blue skies and just a light to moderate easterly wind. Great to be out in it :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,653 ✭✭✭appledrop

Kanye that's the quote of the day, not a bad day if your sitting in your car🤣.

Only in Ireland are we better off at times looking out at sun rather than being in it due to that freezing wind.

Wind is quite strong today and destroying any sense of warmth from the sun, much like the past 2 days. Hopefully the easterly breezes come to an end soon. However the next 1 to 2 weeks look like remaining on the chilly side so no signs of any warmth till at least the second week of May.
