It Chapter 2 was terrible, I couldn’t stay interested in it. Chapter 1 was brilliant, it was one of the best movies made that year. Hope same trend doesn’t happen with Dune.

Enjoying the latest episodes of Drive to Survive. It greatly plays up the drama, scandals etc. but it does make for good telly.

    Just watched Bombardment.

About bombing of Copenhagen at the end of WW11.

    Outstanding film, but absolutely heartbreaking.

Even more so when you think of what's going on in Ukraine at the moment.

Anyone see the western hell on the border? It’s about Bass Reeves, looks like something like a school play filmed in a backyard. The costumes other than the main characters looked as if they were bought in a toy store and the script left a lot to be desired and like many modern westerns it lacked action.

Why is the sound quality on Netflix so awful? Its turn the volume up to hear dialogue, then immediately turn it down anytime music plays or there is any sort of non-dialogue noise. The mix is horrendous

I don't think that's just a Netflix problem. Happens with nearly everything these days. Stuff on normal TV is the worst, I find.

What's even worse is there is a difference between adult & kids programmes.

So we might have to turn volume up to 13 or 14 for ours, but if it's anymore then 10 it's blaring on kids programme(the cartoons are already annoying enough I certainly don't want then any louder+😉)

I use subtitles on everything so I know what they are saying, especially if the dialogue volume is low on certain stuff but I do have crap hearing anyway

If anyone is looking for a bit of light fun I would recommend a little Italian rom com show called an astrological guide for broken hearts.

Two seasons most recent one released about a week ago.

There are usually some settings on your TV that will increase the dialogue / lower the background sounds. I changed a setting on my LG and before that a Samsung TV and it made a big difference.

Watched the bombardment earlier, slow going to start with but good tense ending and decent enough overall

    Coven Of Sisters

Spanish/Basque language film about a group of young girls who get caught up in a witch trial in 1603. Really claustrophobic and atmospheric, enjoyed it a lot.

Have to say I enjoyed it, along the film prequel to the series "Ferry'.

Yep - very entertaining. I still have third season to watch but can vouch for first two.

Enjoyed it. You could watch 'Ferry' first as it shows how the lead character about. Not necessary but it is a bit of a waste to watch it after the series.

    F THAT

Netflix could soon make you pay up if you share your password with friends and family

“We’ve always made it easy for people who live together to share their Netflix account, with features like separate profiles and multiple streams in our Standard and Premium plans. While these have been hugely popular, they have also created some confusion about when and how Netflix can be shared. As a result, accounts are being shared between households — impacting our ability to invest in great new TV and films for our members.”

As explained by Varietythis new “add an extra member” feature will allow Netflix Standard and Netflix Premium subscribers to add “subsidiary accounts for up to two people they don’t live with.” Each of these people will gain their own profile and personalized recommendations – alongside their own login and password.

So how much will this cost? Netflix is testing this feature starting in Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru. The cost for adding a so-called “sub-member” will be 2380 CLP in Chile, $2.99 USD in Costa Rica, and 7.9 PEN in Peru.

Imagine a family of 4 on the 4k sub. 1 moves out for work in another city / country and netflix tells the family they need to pay extra to keep them included in the sub. 😆. Jokers. If they try that they're off their heads.

Have been curious about this. But realise now the only opinion I have ever heard on it is from Scroobius Pip (on his podcast), who is in it, so not sure that counts s any sort of recommendation.

Anybody watched it and have an opinion?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,755 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

So if someone watches on a tablet outside the house do they have to pay extra? Like are they going by IP address? Seems stupid.

Its a while since I saw it but thought it was excellent. Great cast.

*edit I'm assuming this is the Tom Hardy TV series we are talking about. Can't keep up with things so could be some other show called Taboo for all I know.
