Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Excellent, 10-7 to Willie. Super on the doubles

    Brilliant from O'Connor.

    Totally deserved.

An all Irish quarter final perhaps?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,931 ✭✭✭Sultan of Bling

What a day for Damon Heta.

    2 huge scalps.

    Well done Willie 👏👏👏

    Very consistent

    Rydz totally outplayed there.

He's great to watch, but maybe he needs to slow down just a touch.

He seemed to be trying too hard.

A great performance from price though tbf. He certainly upped it a bit from this afternoon.

Great stuff from KB, hopefully WOC can join him in the semis

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

This match is getting really nervy. Lot of wayward darts

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,513 ✭✭✭shockframe

Could be a novel All Ireland pairing on the cards!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

    Barry vs Smith

    Willie vs Noppert

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,421 ✭✭✭✭Rikand

Keane had the best average in the quarter finals, so every chance of taking out Smith.

Both of them have every chance

Peter Wright is now world number 1. MVG is now 5th I think.

Can't wait for tonight I think Barry could beat Smith.

Interesting semis - very similar styles in the two games

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,629 ✭✭✭ThebitterLemon

Hope Keane wins it but I reckon Smith wins his first major tonight

Brilliant start from Barry. Imagine we got an all Irish final!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Smith gone up a whole extra level

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,629 ✭✭✭ThebitterLemon

That was Peter Wrightesque from Smith

Looks all over unless Smith sh1ts his togs

Great chance for Willie here, noppy playing $hite

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

How many of Noppert's darts have fallen out of the board

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,629 ✭✭✭ThebitterLemon

Crap standard if the truth be told

Missed the replay, can the guy be seen grabbing O'Conner's arm?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,028 ✭✭✭boomdocker

Yes pretty poor for a big tournament semi.

Surely Bully Boy wins the final against the winner of this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,629 ✭✭✭ThebitterLemon

Willie has gone to the dogs.

    Terrible standard

    TbL

  • Registered Users Posts: 689 ✭✭✭US3

Willie somehow will blame a fan shaking his non throwing hand for this. He just doesn't have the mentality.

Smith will win this- 2 lads look completely drained

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,629 ✭✭✭ThebitterLemon

If Smith doesn’t win this he should retire!

This is genuinely the most boring game I've ever watched.

Smith really deserves a major and I hope this is it.. well done to the our Irish boys for doing us proud!!

Why the f.. isnt the ref doing something about the whistling on Nopperts throw???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,829 ✭✭✭hawkwing

    Good man Danny!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,823 ✭✭✭Deeper Blue

At this stage you'd have to wonder will Smith ever win a TV tournament.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Jesus that tournament couldn't have panned out any better for Smith and he still finds a way to lose. Fair play to Noppert on his first major win

    Clutch there by Noppert

Despite the whistling he held it together

That d4 after hitting the 9 on d18 on the 20th leg was a cracker

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,057 ✭✭✭UrbanFret

Just like the team he supports. Utter shite.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

Smith really is the ultimate bottler!

  • Registered Users Posts: 129 ✭✭irs

You could see that coming early on but I still can't believe Smith didn't win it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 689 ✭✭✭US3

I've been defending Smith on here for 8 or 9 years but my patience is gone. He is a bottler. Don't think he will ever win one nor do I care anymore

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,147 ✭✭✭✭paulie21

Smith needs a psychologist. Danny Noppert ffs. Said it himself should be winning that 11-3

That was some collapse from Smith. And the way he beat Keane Barry before it.

A very ordinary final but fantastic drama. Was worried Noppert was going to go all Mike Gregory on it.

Delighted for Noppert all the same. If it wasn't one of our 2 lads I'm glad it was him that won it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Interesting stat lowest ever average for a major winner in the PDC:

  • Registered Users Posts: 689 ✭✭✭US3

Imagine winning a major title beating only 1 person inside the top 20 and beating him with an 84average. Terrible tournament all around apart from the Irish

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,028 ✭✭✭boomdocker

Well I suppose the old adage is applicable , you can only beat what's in front of you , so fair play Danny Noppert

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,672 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

Interesting how three of those four listed are the UK Open. Guess it kind of shows the impact having to play for three days solid — in particular three games of 19/21/21 legs on the Sunday — has on the players.
