Going back to accusing me of being a Trump supporter is all you have, embarrassing for you, especially since you can’t supply any evidence of this. If I made a statement I could back it up. The red scare, the Salem witch-hunt, boards.ie trump threads all the same mass hysteria.

I hope you guys get the thread that you’re professing to want. Full of people who think exactly the same as you do. Your tactics of how you engage with people and reporting them to the moderators show just how childish you guys are. I’m out, have fun.

That's the tucker tactic, the news isn't the thing that never happened, it's the reaction to the thing that never happened that's the problem.

A trump supporter made a joke that involved matchbox and matchbox has been sh!tposting about others making fun of matchbox since then.

You literally gave an ultimatum that you were going to offer zero productive discussion until you got an apology for saying you're a Trump supporter. It's just a bit sad tbh

That’s true, but I wasn’t involved in any discussion on this thread. One poster made false accusations against me, which to be fair they admitted, even if that post was deleted. Your accusations still stand strong without any evidence or apology.

Yeah? How do you know that?

Maybe it will happen, maybe the evidence of Republican candidates and influencers praising Putin and attending white power conferences and so on might not be the vote getter they think it will be.

Whatever the ultimate outcome in Ukraine, the response so far from many countries and certainly the EU has been that people have little time for the brash, aggressive, nationalistic, backward thinking mindset that the Republican party has hung it's hat on. Time will tell whether that realization will come to the states before November, or not.

    Another RINO I guess?

Absolutely no one should buy this bs, or his book.

He apparently came to realise what we all knew before he took the job and while he was in a position to do something about it, he did nothing.

The amount of people who try to rehabilitate their reputation after the event with trump is extraordinary.

Crooks and cowards the lot of them

I disagree, we should all buy the book. Make sure it out sells “Art of the Deal”

Pretty much every other book ever published has outsold "The Art of the deal" - It's sold about 1M copies in the ~35 years since it was published.

Trump claimed during his 2016 campaign (lied) that it was the biggest selling business book of all time - Clearly it isn't.

For example - Stephen Coveys book "7 habits of highly successful people" published 2 years after Trumps book has sold 30M copies so far.

I have no idea what you even stand for, what is your point of view? What do you have to add to the debate?

Is your tactic to simply use up room and oxygen in the hope that people might abandon the debate therefore shutting it down?

"I'm not a Trump supporter, but..." is the new "I'm not a racist, but...".

That was me and I see the Mods removed the to-and-fro about that whish is fair enough

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,237 ✭✭✭✭everlast75

I scrolled back 7 pages and couldn't find a post that wasn't moaning about other poster's - none that I could see about Trump. I lost interest after that

So I haven't been on this thread much recently and I have something that is bothering me.

I seem to remember over the last number of months a lot of comments (not on here but at Trump / republican rallies) about Biden et al being "commies" etc and now all of a sudden over the last couple of weeks (more like days) but including the CPAC stuff of the almost celebration of the Russian invasion and supporting Russia.

So maybe I'm simple or confused or both but which is it Is Biden a commie or are the republican's Communist sympathisers?

A rare Trump ordered air strike turned Soleimani into salami.

When Joe Biden orders an air strike he takes out an innocent aid worker and 9 members of his family. Imagine being so ensconced in your own tribalism that you can rip Trump all daylong and not ever be critical of Biden. Real people can see the feverish double standards a mile off and thats why the Dixiecrats will get trounced in the upcoming elections 🙂

Not for a moment forgiving the US for the indiscriminate use of drone strikes , but Trump used them WAY more than previously and we know nothing about how good/bad or otherwise they were in terms of civilian casualties because Trump banned the publication of the details.

I somehow doubt that Military Intelligence and/or Drone accuracy was somehow different under Trump than before or after - We know about the Biden failure because they made it public , Trump didn't make anything public.

Also - Dixiecrats? - Democrats haven't been called that in decades.

ignurnt perhaps? Dixiecrats? Really? Who calls the south Dixie anymore? Even Mississippi removed the stars and bars from their state flag.

  • Registered Users Posts: 40,317 ✭✭✭✭ohnonotgmail

How do you know the results of trumps drone strikes or even how many there were? Trump stopped reporting on them half way through his term.

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,524 ✭✭✭✭Tell me how

    Tune in to reality ffs.

Who was President in 2017 can you remind me?

And plenty people find fault with Biden. They do it on the Biden thread and they do it because they aren't cult members.

    S. E. Cupp had a piece about this in the Sun Times, you can dig through the numbers if you work really hard at it.

    https://chicago.suntimes.com/news/2019/5/8/18619206/under-donald-trump-drone-strikes-far-exceed-obama-s-numbers

Summarizing: More under #2xIMPOTUS than predecessors. "Rare" maybe applies to steaks but not strikes by #2xIMPOTUS.

I learned ages ago you don't get to dictate the tone of discussion on an open Internet forum. If it offends your sensibilities, that's for you to work on.

The post in question that those comments targeted has received many serious answers. Unfortunately, given the OP in question, I doubt the serious feedback will be addressed. Much like not being able to answer direct questions due to fears of banning because, well, you never actually specified the specific warnings or reasons, we've got your word on it.

I know the news cycle has been consumed with infinitely more important things of late , but is it just me or has "Truth Social" been an utterly damp squib thus far?

I haven't seen any reference to it - Trump doesn't seem to have posted on it (or at least I haven't seen a post of his referenced by anyone anywhere) despite having lots to say recently , not least his attendance at CPAC etc.

The only thing I've seen about it was the fact that they had banned an account called "Devin Nunes Cow" before it had even posted anything - Go Free Speech!!

How long before we add "Truth Social" to this already lengthy list of Failures & Bankruptcies?

Just wondering which side of the fence I'm on. What is your definition of a woke Irish person?

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,389 ✭✭✭✭Penn

Most of Trump's failures came after his biggest successes. He doesn't learn from them, because one of his biggest failures is thinking that putting his name on something means it'll be successful. Leaving aside the obvious Don Jr. joke, his company owned hundreds of millions, if not billions in real estate, and he put his name on a brand of f*cking steaks because he thought so long as he was on the ad, it'd be successful. His university was a scam. He failed at operating casinos which are damn near licences to print money.

He doesn't learn from his failures. He's far too arrogant for that. If he fails, something else is to blame, not him.

  • Moderators, Politics Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 15,241 Mod ✭✭✭✭Quin_Dub

Setting aside the stupid "woke" guff , of course risks need to be taken and not all will come off.

However , his win/loss ratio is WAY out of whack.

The legacy real-estate business that his father built (A horrible person , but a savvy businessman non the less) does reasonably well , although from what has been seen so far from his tax returns - not that well.

However , without exception every single business started by Donald J Trump has crashed and burned or is limping along losing money each and every year propped up by repeated re-financing , which is why the Mazars statements are so utterly catastrophic for him.

None of his Hotels/Golf Courses are profitable and all of the Trump-This and Trump-That ventures have collapsed leaving debts and failures in their wake.

The only two things that he personally started that have been profitable are The Apprentice (when he pretended to be a successful Businessman on TV) and Politics through his creaming off huge amounts of money from the various PAC's etc.

He is a spoofer and a Bullsh!t artist - he's very good at both of those , but an "Entrepreneur" he is not.

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,237 ✭✭✭✭everlast75

"One thing woke people dont get...especially woke Irish people ...is that entrepreneurship requires failure in order to succeed. The skills you need to succeed cannot be learned in a book - they can only be learned from making mistakes.

If businesses didn't fail there would be state managed markets (communism)

Which neatly explains the type of person who hates Trump, actually. The bureaucrats, the corporate drones and the apparatchiks who could not survive by themselves

Its no wonder they cant form an individual thought. Its no wonder they only repeat soundbites from the hive-mind."

The irony of this poster complaining about "soundbites". Beyond parody

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,202 ✭✭✭✭Igotadose

So, Cognitive, what do you think the future holds for Trump?

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,506 ✭✭✭✭astrofool

WhoMadeGod was the last fella around here with a fetish for woke people, he never made coherent points either.

I guess putin is now your anti-woke demi-god to follow? You know, after he cuckolded trump to the level that trump is praising him for invading another country.

This has been the thing with trump, anyone who knew him from before the presidential run, also knew he was a failed business man who lost his daddys money rescued by becoming a reality tv star.
