    No

First time down to the supermarket without a mask. Sad I know but felt a bit good amongst all the crazy end-of-the-world sh1t.

Medium size town down the country. Majority of customers were still wearing them from what I saw, I'd say 75%-80%. Staff the other way around.

Did i once say they did ?? If you read the full conversation which you replied you would know it wasn’t about healthy people . it was about a poster calling anyone who still wore a mask an insulting name

To which I replied that some people have medical reasons to wear them

No. Thrown in the bin yesterday.

As for others wanting to continue wearing them - I couldn't care less if other people want to bounce around in a plastic bubble doing their shopping. Nothing to do with me, I'm just glad to see the back of them for me.

Id be exactly the same, wont bother wearing one but if someone wants to then work away.

Its funny mind looking at some of the virtue signallers on twitter and the like. Tweet number 1 will be extolling that sentiment, saying its everyones own choice and everyone who chooses to wear a mask should be supported.

Tweet number 2 then will be attacking different businesses who have decided to abandon mask wearing and calling them out on social media asking people to boycott them.

The irony of asking people to support everyones choice is completely lost on them.

Just back from the garage and about 70/80% of customers still wearing masks plus the staff - although one wasn't so I presume it's optional for them.

Those not wearing masks were all under 35 (plus me) so there seems to be demographic element too

Yes you did, the first words of your sentence is Yes they did, I'm not talking about kids or people after getting cancer wearing masks.

I'm on about the average Joe Bloggs, absolutely no reason at all to be wearing them anymore according to NPHET so cop on and get on with it.

    Yes in busy Shops/public transport.

Was on liffey valley this morning and it was very 50/50. Will take a few days to get back to normal. Felt really strange walking around with no mask on.

cos I'm suspicious and dubious,, could all be a ruse by Govt, in order to come out with a 'fresh batch' of juked stats that have been repressed thus far,, as well as to (the TV & Radio stations will chip in here) ramp up the 'clamour' for the rags' return to being mandatory,, other than suspiciousness I've no further thoughts on it atm. were never about anyone's 'health' to begin with imo, given that there's no filtration system/filter inside them,, what did they ever 'block' to begin with??

I'm honestly very, very surprised about the amount of people still wearing masks. Easily 75-85% of people are still wearing them. I was shopping in Limerick and noted that in most smaller shops the staff were largely not wearing masks but pretty much all the customers were. In Penneys, I'd say about 1/3 of the staff weren't wearing them, the rest were. Most customers were wearing them. It wasn't just because they didn't know they aren't compulsory either because I saw numerous couples where the woman was wearing a mask and the man wasn't. Overall, that pattern was repeated because there were significantly fewer men in masks whether alone or with someone. Ages of those without masks was probably mainly 30s and 40s, younger people were pretty much all wearing them still. Surprisingly, all of the east Asian women I saw were not wearing a mask. There was definitely a slight sense of relief evident on some people's faces when they saw others without masks too.

Was in the shop this morning for a loaf of bread ,was a thoroughly enjoyable experience to march through the doors with no rummaging around for my mask.

Plenty of others in the shop no masks on either, the staff were still wearing them.

I will remember my first no mask day for years to come, a batch bread loaf under my arm and whistled out the door.

Simple things in life eh !

    It’s like wearing no underwear

Businesses haven't abandoned mask wearing. It's just not compulsory any more.

Let's not pretend it's these lads who are calling for boycotts. There were massive social media campaigns aimed at boycotting shops, hotels, any business who complied with the law when mask wearing was compulsory. Pretty horrible behaviour.

I'm glad to see the back of compulsory mask wearing and i'll be glad to see the back of these "patriots" abusing people for following the law.

Well that was depressing! Popped into my nearest big town to do some shopping and only that I knew masks were not compulsory anymore you could not have told it from the streets/shops. Going into the shopping centre everyone pulling one of their pocket to put on, only one shop out of all I went in to had a maskless staff member! Dunnes Stores had some staff with them on and some not, that's fine as it's obviously personal choice but it sure looked in some of the other shops like they had been told to wear them! I bought nothing in them so didn't get the opportunity to ask, the one shop I purchased in the lady who was not wearing a mask said they were told it was their own decision, as it should be!

I really am surprised, in the coffee shop the same with lots of people still wearing them. I really wonder though why people don't wear the better FFP2 if they actually want to protect themselves. Some staff with them below their nose which really bugs me, either wear it properly or don't wear it all.

Was in a couple of shops this morning, no signs,no plastic screens, no staff wearing masks, only one or two customers wearing them but they were 60+ I'd say. I really don't care if someone wears one or not but its grand to have them gone

I was in the Square earlier . I would say 50/50 there . I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with anyone who wants to wear one . It will take people time to adjust and they are entitled to that

The social pressure is still there, even if the rules are gone.

Give it a few more days and only the vulnerable will be wearing them.

    Yes in all situations.

I don't mind people's opinions on masks but using the word normalcy crosses the line 😂. Normality ffs.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

Was in the local Lidl in Limerick City, no mask on, I think aside from the staff I was the only person there without a mask. I honestly felt a bit awkward.

There's definitely a big push on to voluntarily keep masks in lots of places

    Plenty of stories popping up

NBRU rep. says "nobody refusing to wear a mask" ,whatever tf that means now

"Teachers and parents support the continued wearing of face masks by 9 to 12 year olds in schools" more random horsesh1t

    @Tom Mann Centuria

Either is apt, "normalcy" is prettier to me.

I derive pleasure where I can.
