Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Deskside, about to knock off for a late lunch break.

Have to run out to get a nice birthday card for my Uncle's 80th which is on Friday (he lives up North as do nearly all of my extended family/relatives) and then post it off to make sure it gets to County Fermanagh in time.

Looking forward to my Zoom yoga class this evening! 😊

Thanks to Covid. On call. Working off site. Sipping at coffee house on WiFi. Does it get any better than this?

Yup slowly simmer and stir after blending, tiny pinch of nutmeg too. Wife is extremely happy so that'll do!.

Just sitting in the lobby at work after having a taco cheese toasted sandwich that I made last night, a banana and a large latte trying to warm myself up before I start at 8am. Feeling really cold after being utterly blasted by a ten second deluge of rain at the bus stop this morning. It just came out of nowhere, one of those freak bursts of rainfall that would soak you in an instant 🌧️🥶

    Tableside...

Not saying I'm tired but this is the kind of day where even my coffee needs a coffee...

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Some amount of tumbleweed in here. 😁 Anyway, I was in the cutting room all day and left a lot on the floor. The modern translation is probably lots left in the original file that gets deleted! A bit more to do and then a very very quiet February.

Now watching Michael Kane in Harry Brown. I met the editor in London a couple of years ago.Down in Brick lane having a great curry and beers. I was only there a wet day! What an honour to have a chat with a person that had reached a level way above me and yet had respect for me. These kind of things don't happen in Ireland. Probably why our film and TV industry is still muck filled baloney. I'd take London again if I get the chance.

Rant over.😁 But at least it kept the thread going into the evening!

Oh, I have to steal that for future reference! 😂😂😂

It's always nice when a known expert in your field respects you and your work, Grandeeod. I hope you find some work over there again soon 🙂

Tableside here, hammering out the final few paragraphs of what's shaping up to be a two thousand word monster of a blog post. For some reason, I"ve been feeling really upbeat for most of January so far. Even my journal entries are optimistic, and they're normally where I vent my frustration and fears. I have a feeling that the hammer will fall shortly, though. I know my luck...

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Must be some cat to be able to drag you in 😏 *runs for the hills*

Tableside here, with a coffee and some chill tunes. Writing again, taking advantage of the fact that my writer's block has finally gone away. Only one more day to the weekend as well 😃

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Sofaside, horizontal, chilling to the wonderful songs of Stevie Wonder from his 1970s golden era of output. 😎🎧🎼🎹

Very busy with work - hectic in fact - the last few days so looking forward to tomorrow with no classes to give and a more sedate pace of work.

January - my least favourite month - is going pretty fast compared to last year, and I’m very happy with that! 😁👍👍🌈

I remember as kids we'd always try singing that , but could never get down to the very low tone in it 😂

The Man From Atlantis was on an obscure channel here earlier, definitely a day for memories CJ ☺

Those were the days ☺ that and The Incredible Hulk , which I always found upsetting as I felt sad for him 🙈

My younger brother was terrified by the incredible hulk. I used to piss myself laughing when it came on and he'd run out of room 😅

Tableside here, feeling drained. Had a bit of a moment when the lifting of restrictions was announced. I'd gone into this whole lockdown without really having processed all the crap that happened 2017 and 2018 and I honestly don't know how much more I would have been able to take.

No trying to whip up some dinner.

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,260 ✭✭✭Poochie05

Beached on the couch after a massive takeaway, feels a bit weird hearing all the restrictions have been lifted, just like that after so long. Welcome news but think it take a while to get used to it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,274 ✭✭✭✭Purple Mountain

I am actually silently praying that this isn't a red herring and that in 2 months, the Taoiseach won't be put on the plinth announcing another lockdown 😏

I can't wait for the day when masks will be gone too.

    Full normality 🙏

It's weird because while our esteemed leader has scrapped a lot of covid restrictions as of 06:00 tomorrow a lot of bigger companies have poster campaigns about safety in the fourth wave..
