I haven't listened yet, but noticed the victim complex creeping into everything. Talking about men who feel they're personally attacked and are somehow offended by discussions like this.

i have, it’s a discussion about harassment, women feeling unsafe, sports representation, WhatsApp groups, a college programme about these issues, same sex schools and another four or so issues I’m forgetting.

its not about the Aisling Murphy case or any issue that is likely to have had anything to do with how she met her fate.

When you tell an entire gender to do the above you group together people that are already empathetic and treat others with respect with those that are disrespectful and potentially violent. Treating men as one homogenous group. It all seems rather patronizing.

Judging from your name you are from Waterford. If someone from Waterford attacks someone from Kildare should we ask that people from Waterford do some self reflecting, treat Kildare people better and call out toxic Deise-icity? It certainly wouldn't enter my mind to ask anyone to do that because it's ridiculous.

I haven't listened to many of the pods over the past two weeks (just cos I haven't had the chance).

What was Ken saying about Man City? Was he saying it's boring and no one cares about them or something?

Just listened, yup, quite a good pod. I mean, it's largely (one would have thought!) reasonably common sense stuff, focusing heavily on the positive influence people can have rather than engaging in any vilification. There really is absolutely nothing here for anyone to be upset or offended by.

It's great that SC can do something like this though, since their listenership is exactly the demographic that can most benefit from hearing it.

Cool, look forward to seeing that applied to all groups of people.

Edit. I do do the above already. I never said there wasn't men who don't treat people with respect our empathy.

I'd become completely jaded with the social media (and some mainstream media) coverage of this, so I'll admit I was a bit meh when I saw the episode pop up on my feed.

Having said that, the conversation from yesterday was probably the most balanced and least divisive I've heard on the topic so far.

That's not to say I agree 100% with everything that was said but this sort of inclusive and informed dialogue undoubtedly has more value than the hysterical 'debate' that we've all seen and heard during the last week.

The podcast would have been improved imho by not having Murph and Sinead O'Carroll on...both had very little to add apart from vague generalisations and barely relevant anecdotes.

As others have mentioned, I'd be interested in hearing Richie Sadlier's take on it at some point given his general expertise and experience in the area

If someone hasn't listened yet but they intend to, can you count how many times the phrase "a conversation needs to be had..." comes up?

Strange Ken doesn’t count penalties or champions league goals when talking about Ronaldo…. Especially when he is all about “facts and figures”

Enjoyed today's episode part from the bit about Ronaldo and his 6 goals. Wasn't really sure what his point was.

You seem quite sensitive to anyone offering an opinion that differs from yours. I don't think the lads at SC need you in here defending their decision making.
