rep of ireland fast becoming like one of those undesireable nations or regions of the world where most people avoid, north korea, rural alamabama , dodgy african nations, where theres all manner of odd ball regulations, defenitley not a place people would want to holiday to or migrate to. id imagine hse heads and nyphet would be happy enough if they could bring in curfews all year round, or a time limit or drink limit to hospitality.

England has their nightclubs open since the Spring. Broadly similar numbers as us. Make no doubt about, closing at 8pm / midnight has done NOTHING to prevent the spread.

Once you understand that, you will see what the current restrictions are in a vaccinated and all vulnerable boosted country are - pointless.

Would that be the same England with over 10,000 cases in hospital, the same England that are building surge hospitals / hubs to cope with the ramping up increase in demand for hospitalization due to the incessant increase in case numbers and hospital admissions day after day?

If you can't grasp the logic where not having people gathered in large numbers in enclosed places reduces the chances for a virus to transmit and more importantly reduces chances for it to mutate further then I guess its a good thing for us all that more intelligent people with a better understanding are making these decisions rather than relying on personal responsibility.

Stay safe from the virus that can mutate at every transmission and can be transmitted between fully vaccinated people, every mutation can reduce the effectiveness of the vaccine against a new strain, you call it fear if that makes you feel better about the scenario that we are in.

Kick back and fight against it if you feel so inclined, under 50 fully vaccinated & boosted, you're either old enough to know better, or have an underlying condition & should probably know better.

For the record I'd love to go for pints with my sister who flew 6,000 miles to come home for Christmas, not going to happen, she has a PhD in Biochemistry and is a VP in a major US pharmaceutical firm, so I'll kind of follow her judgment before yours if that's ok with you?
