Problem with the free hit is that spurs might not be able to play next game week and you're in a similar position.

True enough but some teams have tasty fixtures this week. City, Chelsea, utd, Liverpool and arsenal would make up my team

I’ll tell you what… it might not be a bad week with some of the fixtures on offer!

ESR & Jota not seen in training pictures.

Why am I buying three United players

    Sanxhez - De Gea

    Toney - Ronaldo

Alonso - Dalot (to afford above)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,770 ✭✭✭✭Muahahaha

The Dalot move could be a very good one if AWB is injured, he crashed badly into the advertising hoardings in the final few seconds last night and he had to be stretchered off after full time. Dalot already looks like taking AWBs place anyway but an injury to AWB would make it a done deal I think, he was pretty poor last night on top of a potential injury.

In the Palace game Dalot got into advanced positions and fired a few good crosses into the box. If that continues then for £4.4m he becomes a very cheap way into the United defence for their favouable fixture run. I'll be looking at him myself next week as a possible Alonso or Livramento replacement.

    Just took a reluctant -8

    Kane > Ronaldo

    Raphinha > B. Silva

    Steele > Bachmann

And I still might not field 11 players if ESR and Jota are out!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,553 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

    Kane to Ronaldo or Lukaku....

ESR & Jota sized problems aswell

    Sanchez/Steele is not worth chasing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,139 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

I reversed my decision on Sanchez/Steele - was initially going to leave them. But on reflection with a nice team value. I thought I might as well use it.

I got rid of Steele and brought in De Gea for another -4 (would assume Man United have a good chance of a clean sheet v Norwich - new style of play - new formation)

It still leaves me with enough of money to get Ronaldo in for Vardy in gw17.

Brighton will have another blank gw down the line with Chelsea playing in the world club cup - so I think it could be worth keeping Sanchez for the .5 etc.

Like you I have Jota and ESR as well - but I am very happy to own both - I got ESR at 5.3 so I will lose a lot of value. Plus If I sell Jota I will want him back as well - given that he will be the key man when Salah is gone.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Lump of wood Harry Kane to Ronaldo, seems to be a popular swap though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,083 ✭✭✭Chesty08

What is this news of Jota?

just took my -4 of Son/Toney to Lukaku/Bowen

I have Raphina & Livramento on the bench so might just ride that out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,553 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

    Just done Kane to Ronaldo

The Brighton headache does not go away for me, not enough for a good move with Steele or Sanchez tbh, so I'll have to eat those blank gw's

Jus prefer to know ESR & Jota are back soon because of Pep Roulette & Gundogan (should of bought Silva!)

First hits of the season, and I've never cared less!

    Steele ---> DDG

ASM ---> King (made this transfer very early. First early transfer, and I got screwed by Covid. May have saved the extra -4 if I'd waited. Lesson learned!)

    Kane ---> Ronaldo

    Now have...

    DDG

    TAA Cancelo James

    Salah Jota Mbeumo Raphinha

    King Ronaldo Benteke

    Subs: Sanchez Livramento Reguilon Bissouma

I'll probably stick with Kane & Raph to Ronaldo & Bowen. Boring but sensible I guess.

Pulled the trigger on 2 transfers this week.

Son & Livramento to Dias & Bernardo

    Leaves me with

    Sanchez/Steele (No GK this week)

    Cancelo, Dias, TAA, James, White

    Jota, Salah, Bernardo, Raphinha, Sissoko

    Antonio, Pukki, Jiminez

Need advice on 1 to start

    Raphinha, Sissoko, Jiminez, Pukki.

Raphinha - Chelsea defence leaky these days and has been involved

Pukki - scoring recently and not convinced on United defensively just yet without Varane

Jimi - he'll ruin my double City defence if he does anything!

Sissoko - had an assist 2 games ago, not convinced all the same

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,660 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

I would go with Raphinha, Jimi, Pukki, Sissoko in that order.

    Raphinha the standout really.

There's 3 or 4 suspected cases in the Norwich camp now too, and a couple injuries. The Man Utd players appeal is massive right now.

Cheers Fitz, the hope is he nicks a goal and Reece James still returns attacking wise.

    This is very interesting!

Originally I said there was no evidence (previous season) of cases transmitted between opposition & Toney was probably an anaomaly or picked up elsewhere.

But Dean Smith has said it is 4 players now who are awaiting results. He doesn’t think it it is related to Spurs game as 1st round all clear since that game but it could of taken a while to develop.

4 players is a lot & they could have grounds for a postponement with Spurs getting there’s

Was just thinking Sanchez will have a DGW at some stage, wouldnt normally captain a keeper but captaining him in a DGW should return minimum 8 points and up to 24.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,775 ✭✭✭bmorrissey

Took a -4 to move Kane to Ronaldo and Duffy to Dalot.

Wouldnt have the full 11 otherwise and im unsure about Smith-rowe playing, so took the -4 gamble

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,570 ✭✭✭✭shmeee

    Plan is 2 FT's

    Son and Toney out

    Ronaldo and Douglas Luiz in

Leaves a team and bench of:

    Fernandez

    TAA, Cancelo, Dias, James, Rudiger

    Salah (c), Jota, Bilva

    Ronaldo, Dennis

    Foster, Mbeumo, Douglas Luiz, Pukki

Toss up between starting Mbeumo or Dennis. Brendord keeper may cancel out if go Dennis. Will be a last min call. Climbed inside top 10k so any call is huge!

Surely Norwich game goes ahead unless 7+ cases come out within the squad...

Ps. Jota a doubt as per Jurgen Klopp: "Diogo [Jota] felt something after the last Premier League game, didn't train yet. We will see - maybe he can train today. Then he is an option. If not, then not"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,660 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

"Jota could train" isn't really very informative. Thanks Klopp!

What does that mean? If he trains ok, then he plays? If not, he doesn't play.

You're taking a chance on him being fit and being involved from the start for 60-75 mins. Given the recent form of Origi, Klopp might be inclined to give him another start and let Jota recover fully. Or possibly even give him some time from the bench.

Also against Watford & Porto, Jota remained on the bench while fit, so even if he does train today, there is also the chance that he does train but doesn't play.

I think I might start him. As of now. He is certainly not a transfer out though.

haha this Fred thing is perplexing me. I suppose its hard to argue with a goal and two assists in his last two outings and his fixtures are favourable. Im just not seeing it yet though but there is a couple of years bias behind that. Will watch the Norwich highlights to see how he gets on. If he is this new no 8 constantly hovering around the edge of the box then for £4.9m he could do more for me than Douglas Luiz who is only marginally cheaper.

Anyway not sure if posted but Jota is now flagged at 50%, muscle injury. It doesnt sound like he will play so it will be Watkins off the bench for me

Is Raphina a keeper (not the goal keeping kind). I'm tempted to swap him to get Maddison and hope his rich vein of form continues? Talk me into or out of that move.

I'm currently thinking over a -4 to go Raphinha -> Bowen. I also own Madisson and starting him this week. But the Leicester covid issue is half putting me off him now, in addition to playing a tough demoralising game away in Naples last night. But they scored twice and Newcastle are not as good as Napoli.

Raphinha price is expected to drop tonight. But that will be after the deadline. So in theory, I could have Raphinha for this GW, but Bowen for next GW.

I'm currently benching Raphinha but whether I would start Bowen this week is a bit unknown. I'm currently starting Jota, Madisson, Bilva, Wilson, Dennis, Antonio. Who does he start instead of?
