Have two FT's and was always going to bring in Lukaku for Kane (provided he has no set-back between now and weekend).

But this covid outbreak in the Spurs camp has thrown a spanner in the works. My initial plan was Maddison for Townsend, but now I don't know whether to bring in Dalot for Davies or hope that the game goes ahead. Of course my two GK's are Brighton too (was aiming to change that shortly) so if the Spurs game is off, I will be down to nine starters irregardless (Duffy suspended in any case).

Surprisingly it's the only time I have been potentially screwed by covid, and right when I am in the mix-up in a tight ML and don't want to take a hit.

I think a lot will be around 9 starters. You are lucky you have two free transfers - I would say you can afford a -4 - wouldn't be too pushed about the keepers.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Id say Cancelo, Mount, Bowen, Bernardo are the clear in form players there. Bernardo could be the most attractive given he was rested tonight but with Bowen you get more or less guaranteed starts. Mount also looks good though youre back to the uncertainty of starts.

Benteke/Lukaku could do well but they are a punt right now until they prove themselves up. A -4 is fine if you think youre going to keep the new players for at least 4 games and they have the fixtures to justify it.

thanks for the advice on the -4. I think that’s what I was looking for.. if they can prove their worth over the forthcoming games then definitely worth taking.

issue with a lot of those form players is that I have 1 (Raphina) place up for grabs this week. Will be Son if I decide to go the Lukaku route & then it leaves me with Bowen as only mid option. Which I’m ok with.

The following week I could then ship out Wilson (who’s fixture turn horrible) & Raphina for Benteke & Mount/Bernardo for a -4.

    Safe option is 1 transfer.

    Toney -> Benteke

    or

Raphina -> Bowen, Bernardo or Mount

Im going Raph to Bowen myself, both have form but Raph has some really tough fixtures. He carries that Leeds team in the easier ones but I reckon Bowen will outscore him with his easier fixtures in the next 4 gws. However I already have Bernardo so Raph to Bowen is a 'safe' move. Im also clinging hope to an Antonio-Bowen points bonanza, it may not happen but they had a good partnership v Chelsea.

I have Wilson too and he is sold after that Leicester fixture, he was only ever a 4 game player for me when I bought him, as you said his fixtures are woeful soon.

Im not convinced on owning Lukaku/Benteke just yet, however thats only becasue I like to see players prove themselves into form. If youre attacking it from 11k though then taking that leap of faith might be the way. Its one of those flip of the coin situations where it could result in getting to 3-4k or getting dumped to 20k. Chelseas fixtures are good but it would be a much easier decision if Lukaku had of done better when he was fit. I suppose one bonus is Tuchel cant play Havertz in that position if Lukaku is fit. Though given he cant depend on him he has to be coming up with other ways to score.

Ouch, I have 2FTS and yet Josh Brownhill is still likely to make my starting XI 😱

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,083 ✭✭✭Chesty08

Yes I don’t have Bernardo (have Gundogan) so it would mean a double City mid - which I’m ok with over Xmas & current fixtures.

However it leaves me with Toney & Duffy not available this week so be a bit light if any last minute changes - therefore Bowen & Benteke become the options.

I think then the week after I get Bernardo or Benteke but then have a Wilson problem to also get rid of. And my thinking there is Son -> Lukaku & Wilson -> Bernardo/Bowen (who ever I didn’t get)

with all that said I think I’d prefer Son to be out so I can do Lukaku & Bowen in this week for -4, then -4 next week and have Bernardo/Benteke. The alternative is 0 point hit this week & -8 this week (but more info)

Son out to Bilva I'd say

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,858 ✭✭✭LostArt

With the Spurs game most likely off I'll have to take Son out and Brighton's Sanchez too.

Son-> Jota will be one transfer for sure, any suggestions for my Sanchez replacement? I'm leaning towards Guaita at the moment

Kane to Ronaldo and Raph to Bowen were my initials thoughts. I also have exactly enough for Kane & Raph to Bernardo and Lukaku. Tempted to punt on Lukaku for the next two homes games and if he doesn't show any form then it'll be an easy switch to Ronaldo then.

Do you really need to get rid of Sanchez? He's only missing one game. And the fixtures after this GW are not exactly screaming out disaster. Do you have a sub GK?

Son missing 3 GWs is a different story.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,858 ✭✭✭LostArt

Unfortunately my sub won't play. I might just hold Sanchez though, chances are the replacement I pick will only get me 2 points

Looking at a couple of options now...

    Son to Mount/Gundog

    Or take a hit for:

    Son to Bowen

    Watkins to Lukaku (*_*)

I mentioned this yesterday. If you're taking a hit to get a GK in for Sanchez, you need them to get 6 points minimum to just break even. Wouldn't be confident of anyone at that price tbh.

Even if not taking a hit, it's only 1 game and a bit of a wasted transfer IMO.

Sanchez likely to get 2 max anyway for this weekend.

    I say this as a Sanchez/Steele owner.

I wouldn't take a hit for Lukaku. He was blanking all the time before his injury. I wouldn't trust him to get a return against anyone right now.

Yeah I have Sanchez/Foster so no points this week, just gonna ride it out rather than wasting FT's.

That's a good point too. Well worth keeping Sanchez for that. Brighton not being in Europe makes it easier for them to rearrange games.

Spurs have to try fit in their EC game before Dec 31st and there are not many opportunities to do so. That game will probably take precedence for organising over their PL games. It will probably be around the FA cup weekends that Spurs will get to play one of their rearranged games, possibly the Burnley one. Depending on how both teams fare in the 3rd round

Can't decide if Son and Toney to Bowen and Ronaldo is worth a hit, or just use one FT to move Son to Bruno.

I'll be priced out of Ronaldo if he goes up again.

Also have no GK this week, ugh

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,083 ✭✭✭Chesty08

Looks like I’ll be doing Son & Toney to Lukaku & Bowen this week.

Bernardo & Benteke will have to wait a week

Kane to Ronaldo seems to obvious move but I feel the need for taa is greater so I'm looking at Kane and Johnson to taa and either Antonio or Werner.. will wait on pressers but I already have Bowen so am leaning towards Werner atm

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,398 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

Werner is a massive gamble IMO.

8.3, mightn't start, PL returns are grim.

If dead set on TAA who is a necessity these days, there's a few picks like Antonio, Dennis, King, Watkins, Wilson, Pukki, even Benteke I'd be choosing over Werner right now. Allows you to upgrade elsewhere.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,279 ✭✭✭✭castletownman

Have done Kane and Davies out, Lukaku and Dalot in.

Settling with having no goalie this weekend by having ten starters otherwise (I'm assuming Dalot will start) and leaving bringing in Maddison for Townsend for at least another gameweek.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,127 ✭✭✭The real mccoy 91

Getting taa is giving me double city double Chelsea and taa at the back which im happy to roll with for a few weeks meaning I either have 3 or 4 in midfield. Happy to roll with Wilson against Leicester this weekend and have Jota Salah and Bowen in midfield. So downgrading Kane I'll be moving Wilson after this week and deciding on a striker in that range or going cheap and upgrading raph to get a 4th in the middle.. Werner is risky I know but Leeds look a plum fixture now and he has found his scoring boots this year.. like I said I'll see what tuchels presser is like before pulling the trigger but he's tempting me

Spurs Brighton is off - confirmed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,138 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

I think a large percentage of those playing fpl, will be caught out with postponed games and not only that the Friday deadline.

(That is what I am hoping anyway!)

My team is in a bit of a mess -

I did Hwang OUT - King IN - before the Brentford game was over (was worried about price changes at the time)

Then Toney was announced out with Covid out of the blue.

Then the Spurs game is likely postponed - plus Son has covid.

ESR is still flagged yellow - can't sell him though because I brought him so cheap seems like a waste.

Like many Sanchez/Steele owners I am likely going without a keeper this gameweek

    -

I can afford to Bench Toney.

So I just did Son OUT Bernardo IN - form player/team rising in price, seemed obvious.

    -

But I am well aware judging by those Fantasy Football 'Influencers' - many are getting Ronaldo In - in particular. Or him and Antonio.

I can only hope that Vardy outscores either of the above. I will likely have to sell him the following gameweek because the Leicester v Spurs could be called off. Back of my mind I am hoping that game goes ahead and Vardy plays against a weakened Spurs. As the PL would be reluctant to let Spurs call off two games in a row. Considering they already have to play the rearranged Burnley game at some stage.

I pity anyone with more than one Spurs - a couple of Brighton - and a few Leicester etc

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

    Have Reguilon/Son/Sanchez/Steele/Toney/ESR and 2FTs.

As mentioned by others I too will have no keeper this w/e.

    Reguilon/Son/Toney to Dias/Bernardo/Antonio or King.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,003 ✭✭✭whatawaster81

    Have Son/Reguillon/Dier.

Did Son to Bilva with 1 FT and Libra subs in for a 3 man defence.

Just leaves me worrying about ESR for a full team

With 6 of my team involved in spurs v Brighton I have to free hit don't I? Take a - 4 gets me 11 starters max. Disaster
