Got the text yesterday (Sunday) at about 5pm, Amazon parcel delivered this morning. I must be very lucky as all of my parcels are on time or early. It only dispatched from Amazon on Saturday.

Had a parcel from Europe arrive in Dublin mail centre and then get forwarded on to athlone mail centre even though It’s going to a Dublin address. Was there a mess up with the address on the senders side or is this Normal ?

I've been waiting on something that was shipped from The Netherlands on 1st November. The tracking on PostNL gets it as far as 3rd November "this item is on transport to the country of destination- IRELAND". And it has disappeared since then. An Post tracking just says "we don't have your parcel".

Any thoughts? Is it lost in transit? Is this now standard postal delay? Or is it time to follow up with the retailer?

If its coming from China, you’re in the wrong thread. Have a look here https://www.boards.ie/discussion/comment/118149620#Comment_118149620

no need to re-post, but have a look through a couple of pages and it should give some insight into what happens

Looks like An Post is on the offensive & passing the blame back on other countries...

Still no sign of this parcel and no update on tracking. Its country of origin is Netherlands. Company is saying that there are "long delays on post to Ireland". An Post just say they don't have it still.

I was waiting 5/6 weeks on package from Netherlands ordered in September came end of October, big delays in Netherlands but when it eventually made it to Ireland it arrived quickly

I can't complain about delivery times from Germany recently, it's taking around 4-6 days.

My parcel arrived yesterday, so it took 25 days to come from the Netherlands. It disappeared into a no tracking black hole between the 3rd Nov (PostNL - parcel on shipment to country of destination) and 24th Nov (PostNL - parcel arrived in country of destination). An Post tracking picked it up on the 25th and delivered the 26th.

So it looks like it may be a PostNL issue rather than An Post. But crazy times for shipping a small item within EU!

Yep - whilst you may have a final scan from PostNL - that just means it has been processed to the international dispatch holding area. It then has to wait for space.

But with good air service back up and running, there should be no long delays. I suspect it just got stuck inadvertently.

On a positive note, my niece and nephew got their letters from Santa Claus House in Alaska yesterday. They were posted from Alaska on Tuesday. Santa must have a special express service.

Have an order that was shipped on Thursday with An Post and tracking still states they haven't received the parcel, looks like Christmas delays are in full swing already

Yeah Christmas delays definitely started, I sent something express post on Tuesday, and it's only out for delivery today (Dublin to laois)

Waiting for an international delivery that landed in Ireland nearly two weeks ago. Grrrr. So frustrating. And no, An Post, you didn't "try to deliver mu post".

I sent a registered (national) letter today, will be interesting to see how long it takes to be delivered, considering my last registered parcel took 6 days when usually is next day!

Also kinda concerned for this registered letter because it looks like the post office employee didn't apply the registered label fully on the envelope, she peeled back about half the sticker and stuck half of it down to the envelope, and left the other half sticking up with the peelable paper still stuck to it- so basically half the label was stuck down and now I'm worried it's going to fall off and they lose my registered letter..

There is no option to start a new thread so I figured best to get the most recent An Post thread.

I need to pay a customs charge but when I go to the An Post website I get “request blocked”

    anyone know why this is?

Where are all the postmen? Did they all catch Covid or are they on strike? I haven't seen one here doing the rounds this week and didn't see one last week either. No-one is getting their mail. The last time I saw their van here was around 9th or 10th December. I've got a parcel stuck in Dublin mail centre since last Thursday and I'm starting to think it will never come. Very frustrating.

Storm last week combined with Xmas is all I can think of for delays. Have seen our lads doing the rounds regularly my way though.

I sent a small package last Wednesday to another address within Dublin and they only received yesterday.

I sent express last thursday, got there Monday, so one day delay. I'd say it's just delayed, keep an eye on it if it doesn't arrive you can lodge a complaint/enquiry

I ordered an item from Bulgaria, and its tracking is stuck at

"We have your post in DUBLIN PARCEL HUB, DUBLIN 12" for four days now.

Does that mean I have to go an collect it from DUBLIN PARCEL HUB, DUBLIN 12?

Its a bit out of the way.

A parcel was posted from England to me on October the 13th.This parcel is a big size,4 feet long by about 18 inches wide.Sent thru Parcelforce. It does'nt arrive into Ireland till 5th November, which is a long time to just get across the Irish sea.Anyway,it's somewhere in the "Irish Postal System" according to Parcelforce.I've paid the taxes/customs duty etc during the checkout on Ebay, and the sender has filled the correct CN23 customs form .

Still no sign of the parcel. In fairness to the sender, they've been in regular contact with me and Parcelforce to see where it is.Latest step is a courier/postman is going to call to my house and get me to sign a form saying it has'nt arrived, then the sender will start the insurance ball rolling to get the money back.Bloody annoying altogether.

Tracking still not updated , so at this stage I’m not thinking delayed anymore , I’m thinking misplaced or stolen 🤦🤦😩 have lodged a form for lost parcel so see how that goes

At least not all hope is lost - my parcel arrived and it only took a week from Dublin mail centre to reach me in the greater Dublin area! So... massive delays because of the sheer volume of mail but they're trying.

Its all very hit and miss. For example. An item I ordered from Zavvi sat in limbo for over 10 days until I received it. I also ordered a 7 or 8 blu-rays from Korea, it got to dublin, I paid a couple of quid import tax and i had it in hand in less than 48 hours later.

    Hello Lads,

I have a package from addresspal NJ, I paid customs and was waiting to be delivered today. It had arrived in my town this morning and was out for delivery around 8:11, then it was marked as delivered around 15:00. I have a ring camera and theres was nothing that was delivered. I asked my local postman and he confirmed there was nothing for me this morning. I know him and trusted my local postman. He will brought this up to his mail manager tomorrow morning. Has any of you experience this case?

Just an update, all sorted now. My postman misdelivered it to a lady 3 miles from me. They traced with the delivery time stamp.

Is there a problem with outgoing mail in Galway? I was sent a parcel on Friday and it still isn't showing in the An Post tracking. I trust the sender put it in the mail on Friday so it isn't a case of lying on a table somewhere waiting for someone to take the parcels to the post office today afternoon. Maybe it will simply arrive without ever showing in the tracking but just wondering if I should alert the sender or wait. It was supposed to be here before Christmas but not sure now. Usually post from Galway to Dublin gets here in a day if lucky.
