Would anyone who recently placed off this panel mind sharing their oom, even in private message. Just trying to gauge the places it’s made it to on the panel for future reference.

Would any successful applicants who are now APs care to share some very general information about their backgrounds prior to getting AP? What grade, how long in CS/Private sector and so on? Any information either here or by PM would be much appreciated.

Purpletoes it all depends on your location if you pick Dublin and pass all 3 tests you will get called, even a year later like in this competition but if you picked say Leitrim and Sligo and came 3 in the tests you may not be called if no positions are available in those counties.

I meant you will get called to stage 2.

Just wondering if you got any word yet? I’m on a regional panel so guessing they are dealing with Dublin vacancies first. Hope you get called soon.

Has anyone else heard from PAS since? Seems to be very little movement from this last round?

    Hi,

Someone I know got placed off the panel after stage 3, the eTray. They didn't do stage 4, an interview. Did anyone else get placed on the panel straight after the eTray? I wonder could that happen for the 2021 campaign?

    Thanks.

Jeez that sounds very strange indeed…. Never heard of that before. That would mean someone on panel was knocked back, is it Dublin or regional?

Did they get placed of an internal panel rather then a PAS one

It was a position in a different dept so it must have been interdepartmental & through PAS

There's specialised open AP's too outside this comp(IT,HR and Revenue comps)

Are you sure it wasn't off one of the specialist competition panels, or a specifically advertised AP role? Because otherwise, that assignment was completely out-of-process and sounds like a complete f-up on the part of PAS.

No, it wasn't a specialised role - they were offered a standard AP appointment.

Then Public Jobs have broken their own rules, and anyone who was excluded could challenge their exclusion, on the basis that not everyone was treated equally. That's some can of worms...

Totally agree, if this is the case, anyone who passed stage 3 should also be offered a position. But it does sound strange, not at all like them, there must be something we are not aware of…

I am assuming this person must have already been on a panel.

There is no order of merit or panel after the etray so this would mean they'd have been just whipped off a list of loads of people who passed the etray at random.

It'd be huge incompetence if it happened so I'd give PAS the benefit of the doubt.

How well do you know this person Emermc? Are you sure they didn't just get a transfer or an acting AP role?

Maybe I misunderstood what they had said. Just thought they hadn't done an interview, but they must have.

Wishful thinking maybe on my part, it'd be great not to have to do a 'real' interview. :)

Sorry I forgot to reply to you.

I was notified about two weeks ago that I had been selected from the open panel (late single digits) - currently undergoing pre employment checks.

Fantastic news! Hope the clearance doesn’t take too long. Keep us posted when you’re cleared for take-off. Should only be a few weeks I would imagine, then probably a months notice to startdate :-)

    O Congratulations great news.

Can you please let us know how long your clearance takes? Thanks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,279 ✭✭✭TaurenDruid

Just to note, how long clearance takes is a moveable feast depending on various factors - the Department/organisation the person is being assigned to (some have more stringent clearance requirements), how many addresses they've lived at, if they've lived outside Ireland, etc.

This thread is slowing down lately and they seem to be going gung-ho on setting up the 2021 competition panels. Are many of you still sitting tight after last year’s comp? Still a few months to go. I’m starting new AP role on Monday, best of luck to those still on panels, and thanks to all contributors for the help, advice and support since this competition opened.

Hi all, I just got notified that I was placed on the AP panel for Cork after an interview on the 14/10/21. I had initially applied in April 2020 so I am I right in assuming I am only eligible for the AP2020 panel? Also when does this expire? I have selected Cork as my region and placed 8th in the Open Stream

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 98 ✭✭Rainbowstar

    Hi there.

So the AP 2020 competition panel expires on March 31st 2022.

I interviewed last August and was only placed on my respective panels in early September.

It's hard to know how many roles will come up in any area. Dublin is the only region that you're guaranteed a role it seems.

Hopefully you will get a role and I hope I get placed too but it really is so hard to know.

    Hi All

i did my stage 4 interview in August and panelled number 9 for the Meath panel. I was contacted on the 4/11 to inform me that they had reached my place on the panel and to start the pre-employment checks. These were all completed on Friday just passed. I am now awaiting my start date.

Aw well done and congrats. You must be thrilled.

This gives me hope. Were you on open panel only or inter-d too?

hey was wondering if anyone could offer any advice. I have a couple of HSE interviews at the same level as well as the AP 2021 interview hopefully in the new year so I reckon some interview coaching would be money well spent. Did anyone use coaching for the 2020 comp or could recommend anyone. Thanks in advance
