I am using the City College manual too and plan on leaving out the following:

    1. Possibly the corporate governance essay if I don't get time ( although id like to have this done)
    2. Disqualification (has it ever come up?)
    3. Maintenance of Capital
    4. Receivership
    5. Examinership
    6. Accounts
    7. The last three chapters in the book

I have heard mixed opinions on this but can you highlight the companies act as well as tabulating it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 80 ✭✭murray132

I’m using a companies act which a few of my friends have previously used and it is both highlighted and tabbed. They never had any issues!!

Hi, for anyone doing CONSTUTIONAL LAW, has any lecturer from the respectnve preparatory course released the HOT TOPICS yet.

I have so far covered a lot of topics but I also want to cover some obscure ones so I wouldn't mind knowing which ones to wittle them down to as there is 42 topics in total which is the most of any topic and by all accounts a practical joke...

Could anyone share what came up on the EU march 2021 paper? Or if someone has an up to date grid then that would be great either!

EQUITY - has mutual mistake ever come up for rectification or is it always unilateral?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86 ✭✭Paraeagle

Hey all, I just purchased the Spring 2021 exam papers from the law society website but it doesn’t say whether they’re posted out or sent to you in soft copy. Is there somewhere on the website the papers are available to download once they’ve been purchased? It’s not at all clear :(

It does seem to be mainly asked in context with Unilateral mistake though comes up with SP in a problem questions and could be a stand only Q in a multiple choice so would be worth having two cases on mutual mistake lest it be relevant.

Can i ask what topics you are focusing on for Equity? there is just so much to try and condense down!!

These are my own thoughts, sorry if they are wildly off.

    Trusteeship

    Constructive Trust

    Constitution/DMC/Strong v Bird

    Specific Performance

    Charitable Trusts

    Quia Timet Interlocutory Injunction

    Presumed Resulting Trust

    Satisfaction

What are you studying if you don't mind me asking ?

Dont think theres a download option. I bought papers a few weeks ago and got them in the post within 3 or 4 days.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 250 ✭✭fe1ki5

Yeah they sound like very good predictions and I would be very similar. I haven't done Satisfaction though as it doesn't seem to come up much and was in the March paper.

I've notes on Rectification in case it comes up with SP (was also told it usually appears every second paper and wasn't in March one)

Will do notes on Estoppel just in case but I think it has probably ran its course for a while.

Might do notes on Secret/Half secret trusts even though it appeared in March and Purpose Trusts just because they are fairly straight forward.

Hi just wondering if anyone has heard any predictions for Contract or Equity?

Not doing a prep course so would really appreciate any guidance :')

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25 lawd20

satisfaction is so straight forward - 4 cases to have just incase! I only did it today.

I'm sceptical about giving too much time to Secret Trusts when it was up in March. Thanks for the tip on Rectification!

Finding Equity overwhelming with the amount of content but hope things are going well for you :) Drop a DM sometime if you have any Qs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 250 ✭✭fe1ki5

I feel the same - so much case law and even the "simple topics" are hard to whittle down for note purposes.

I noticed you were asking about contract - i passed in March (was doing a prep course with law school) so my notes etc are a little out of date but i will send you on a really helpful revision booklet.

    Hi,

Company Law March 2020 Question 4 part A: does anyone know why S608 is not relevant here(as per examiners report)? the effect of the payment was that the companies assets were diverted from the creditors?

    Thanks
