My curiosity would be with things like the M1 Carbine which had a kit issued to convert it to M2(FA).
It was originally an M1, semiauto, then converted to FA as an M2, sometimes the receiver was remarked as M2, sometimes not, then at some point it was sold into civilian use and the FA M2 parts removed.
So any guesses, from SA to FA and back again classed as prohib or not?
Once an FA always a FA, or would the M1 even without the M2 parts installed be the FA?
If it is an officially made M2 receiver minus select fire parts, which would be a very rare beast in the EU, and there's no way of installing the parts and has been officially modified to such, you'd be IMO good to go.
I'd doubt the M2 was issued to any former Axis police or military units in postwar Europe either, so it's a problem unknown. If it was a kit installed in an M1 in Europe, it's an illegal firearm anyway. If it was an original M1 minus the kit,its still an M1...If that make sense?
Plus, remember when such guns were imported here, those handfuls that are here in Ireland. The import cert or license doesn't say what their previous history or breeding was. IE FN 308 could be a civilian MSR i 308, or a former converted select-fire FAL. That's the interesting thing, a lot started life as M1s and were overstamped on conversion. However sometimes they were converted and not overstamped either.
Rare enough, yup, but they do exist.
There is some debate on the US side of the pond as to whether a marked M2 carbine sans FA parts is an NFA item or not.
Moreso than here but I'd be surprised if there were none EU-wide.

And that's the crux of it, without disassembling and a careful look that wouldn't be knowable with the M1/M2, especially if it was once an M1 and never got overstamped.
Interesting thought though Never forget, the end goal is zero firearms of any type.

Only been out a handful of times so still breaking her in and ammo testing. Lapua Centre-X and SK Match have given best groups so far.
Very pleased with the groups and consistency. Trigger has absolutely zero creep. Still on factory setting, not lightened it yet.

Seems like a solid very well put together package. Bolt feels not slick but like it's on rails, which I suppose it sort of is!

Collected my new CZ 457 LRP this week. And I have a new Elements Helix 6-24x50mm to go on top. Don't know when I'll get out to shoot it, but the back field will do to get it zeroed in.

Slightly different hardware on display and a first at doing this.
Out on a sec42 yesterday, we decided to enjoy the weather and invested in some single plate gas cookers. Steak and eggs and tea cooked on the back of a Navara before heading uphill for the evening. Almost too hot yesterday for us and the deer, but this will be utilised in winter for sure

I always love dining al fresco, especially during long pigeon shooting days. The pigeon decoying is only an excuse to cook out.
After being introduced to hammock camping a few of us started over night deer camps. Two days stalking, a bit of camp fire grub with a beer or two.
