Please point to a study that shows a flimsy price of fabric or paper protects against an airborne disease. Would you wear a blue surgical mask in a room full of smallpox and expect it to protect you? It won't. And that's a bigger or similar particle size compared to covid.

Hahaha! There are many in the current UK administration that should have resigned long ago. Matt Hancock resigned due to public pressure. Downing Street said the day before that the matter was closed.

The mantra is "anything we open, we keep open".

“However, reports that he is veering towards a cautious approach to reopening are "not entirely correct" the Taoiseach said.”

“The risk is different now to what it was at Christmas because 2.5 million people have been vaccinated and close to overall four million doses administered, the Taoiseach said.”

“Mr Martin said whether AstraZeneca and Janssen vaccine surpluses can be used for younger people will be a factor that influences the Government's decision to reopen hospitality.”

And regarding travelling internationally:

“The Taoiseach said that international travel should resume from 19 July as Ireland enters the EU Digital Covid Certificate system.”

He said: "We have given a commitment in relation to the 19th, so I think we will continue to operate the Digital Certificate."

It is 'against the rules' to kiss/embrace/have sex with new people for going on 2 years.

Do you expect all people to follow these rules or not? Do you consider people who don't follow these rules to be failing in their civic duty?

Here's what I think:

Everyone knows that these rules aren't going to be followed and can't be but some will pretend or talk like they expect them to be followed and this is (intellectual) laziness and dishonesty.

If taken seriously these rules redefine fundamental aspects of life as quasi-criminal.

However the best thing to do would be admit that, tell the truth basically, and stop pretending that social distancing is in force or should be.

I think/hope the govt leaked early to gauge public opinion. And it’s not in their favour now.
Still think it will be delayed . But then it will have to open no matter what

That all sounds positive, hopefully that remains the case.

Can’t imagine there would be any reasons we couldn’t use the surplus vaccines surely? Makes sense.
