    Sounds nasty enough
I’m likely to be getting second jab 24 hours before our 3 day “Sumer holiday “ !

Got it at 2pm yesterday, woke with headache a 6 this morning. Hopefully it's a 48 hour thing

I'm mid 40s fit and active. Had my 2nd Pfizer vaccine 2 weeks ago. Felt fine. I'm exhausted the past 3 days and can't get off the couch, tearful, melancholic and dizzy.

    Anyone had any similar experience?

I wasn't asked this, just if I'd been sick in last two weeks, allergies, any vaccines in last two weeks.

Same here - they asked if I've had Covid recently and if I've had an allergic reaction to vaccines, but nothing about travel.

11 days in between; why are you associating this with the vaccine?

I've never felt like this before in my life. I'm asking on a public thread have people had such a delayed response to the 2nd vaccine. I'm not ruling out something else.

    2 weeks since Thursday.

2 weeks is 14 days by the way.

I think that if your symptoms are 14 days after the vaccine you should phone a GP and ask for advice . It could be unrelated

    I plan to do so.

Just said I'd drop a line on here in the meantime to see if anyone reported a similar experience.

I had quite a lot of fatigue exactly 12 days after my first dose of Pfizer FWIW.

I know three people who experienced something similar about 2-3 weeks after their second Moderna dose. It passed after a day or two.

US epidemiologist say if the US does not get 75% of the population vaccinated by the Fall, that the Fall wave will reach 20% of the peak that was reached in January.

There will be big regional variations due to different vaccination levels in different states.

This is the first clear prediction that I have seen on what Winter might look like. We might face something similar this Autumn/Winter assuming we also do not vaccinate 75% of the population by the Autumn which we probably won't.

20% of last winters cases is a huge improvement but probably still enough for some minor restrictions this Winter like mask wearing continuing and WFH encouraged.

It makes sense as antibody production /immune response would be at its peak

Similar here. Day 10 to 12 I was very fatigued. Seem to have (mostly) passed now.

Day 14 to 19 post 2nd dose Pfizer had delayed reaction.
Thought I had gotten off lightly , then woke up with a sore throat chills , aches and pains and very fatigued . Temp went up one day to 38.5 . OCC Health were just about to test me for Covid when I recovered ! Tested me anyway and was negative , so they said it was just a blip but ut was notified to HPRA by them as outside normal parameters .
That was January though as frontline hcw .
Still would let GP know External Association .

At the MVC I’m at, at the entrance MVC you will be asked:

    Have you an appointment?
    Have you Photo ID?
Have you had COVID in the last 4 weeks?
Have you been a close contact in the last 2 weeks?
Have you had a COVID test recently?
Have you been out of the country in the past month?
    Have you any allergy issues?

These are asked by a vaccinator who is tasked with this job and is known as a “wellness checker”.

I got my own vaccination at a different MVC earlier this year and was asked similar questions- the questions are modified fairly regularly- main intent is to keep someone who might be Covid +ve out of the queue for reception.

All my friends got theirs but I’m still waiting. So annoying!

My wife is 43 and hasn't heard a thing and yet it seems like we are reading on here daily that people younger are being vaccinated in the MVCs

Denmark had 189 cases with positivity rate at 0.25% today

Incredible and hopefully our future percentage positivity wise

Are they much ahead in terms of vaccination or is there another reason for numbers this good?

Qatar now only allowing vaccinated people in to watch the world cup next year (winter '22).

Sorry but I think you are wrong here.

Unlike in America, there is no big regional variation in vaccination rates here. It’s not like Cork will only be at 50% vaccinated and hence liable for a large local outbreak. We will likely see that in parts of the US.

Secondly, the large majority of those yet to be vaccinated in Ireland by the autumn will be young adults and children. Almost all elderly people here are already fully dosed and the large majority of over 50s will be by the end of July.

So the risk of a further wave of hospitalisations in Ireland , barring the entrance of a new as yet unidentified variant, is effectively zero.

Regarding America, copy and pasted from an article.

Experts have warned that geographic differences in vaccination rates could divide the country into 'two Americas' if the Delta variant takes hold in areas with low vaccine coverage.

The latest KFF data show that 80 percent of Democrats say that they have already gotten the vaccine or want to as soon as possible, compared to 55 percent of Republicans.

Nationally, about 45 percent of the nation's adult population is fully vaccinated, with liberal Vermont, Maine and Massachusetts leading the way with at least 60 percent full vaccination.

On the other end of the spectrum, Louisiana, Tennessee and Georgia have the lowest vaccination rates, with less than 35 percent of their residents fully vaccination.

I misread that to mean you needed your vaccine shots to watch the telly:)

I don't think we will see numbers like that until at least some percentage of the young adults have been vaccinated. The vaccines have done an amazing job here of reducing hospitalizations and deaths, but to stop the virus circulating I think we need to deviate from the age based rollout. In particular, extra vaccines for problem areas with high incidence rates.

What happens if you answer yes to having been out of the country in the past month?

Surely come july lots of people will answer yes to that?

Heard the same. There are enough available in Germany for anyone that wants one which is why they have started vaccinating children.

I’m in NRW and from people I know, it is still a fight to get vaccinated. I know people in Group 3 (professional occupation priority) still waiting for slots in the vaccination centres (which are still not open to anyone).

The younger people (30s) getting vaccinated are either in a priority group, through their GP, or by their company doctor.

Children 12+ can get vaccinated by a GP, but this is still extremely unusual.

I think you'll be sent home and a new appointment arranged. Or maybe they have a red/green list, so it'll depend on where you've been.

Very few people planning on foreign holidays this summer as far as I can tell. I haven't spoken to anyone doing it. It's all mobile homes and hotels in Ireland.

We forget that other countries aren't necessarily tiering their rollout like we have. When a country opens it to everyone, that doesn't mean it's available to everyone inside 3 weeks, it just means anyone can book their spot in the queue.

India opened it up to everyone about a month ago despite having very poor supplies. It's the "every vaccine in an arm is better than on the shelf" approach.

There is no absolutely perfect approach. We could open it up to all under-40s today and dish it out first-come-first-served, but then the narrative will change from the "young people who are missing out on formative experiences are at the back of the queue", to "hard-pressed parents who haven't had a break in 2 years are being skipped by lithe young things who are at no risk", not to mention the "terminally ill 38 year old father of 7 has been left waiting for his vaccine for nearly 3 months while younger people are being vaccinated ahead of him".

Wasn't asked about travel or if I'd had a test recently for either of my visits to MVC. Or if I'd been a close contact either actually.
