Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Connaught

I'm gonna call that the shocker of all shockers. Had Nottinghamshire down as outright winner going by all the comments from early on.

    Connacht advances to the Final

Lads and ladies, it's time for the final. You have one hour to cast your votes. Votes will only be accepted via Private Message. You may muse, reminisce, influence and sh*tetalk right here but for totting up purposes, only choices by pm will count.

Voting begins when the match is posted. Hold tight.

    What bias?

There's like a half dozen people living there.

Nottinghamshire flag looks like something an intermediate paint user would knock up.

I also noticed that I've interchangeably used the Connaught/Connacht spellings. This wasn't on purpose at all!

I'm late, as always. But what is wrong with you people?!?! :D

The votes have started to come in. I'll admit that I didn't see an Irish entry making it this far but I did think Connacht would make it the furthest out of the four provinces.

    It does.

And Connacht does look a tad ugly. I give you but thought to date back to 11th Century and

The arms may have been granted to Ruaidrí Ua Conchobair, King of Connacht and the last High King of Ireland before the Norman invasion,
How dya like them arrows? :)

A flag is more than the colours or patterns.
It's the history the meaning the representation.

That Connacht flag represents the poor people of the west - the downtrodden souls of Europe, banished by Cromewll

I beseech do it for west - vote Connacht

Disgusted that Suffolk and Leinster didn't get this far.

I would normally spell it Connacht.

but the first time you posted the flag as 'Connaght', I spelled it that way too in my vote.

didn't even realize I had done that until someone pointed out that there were two different spellings.

    monkey see, monkey do ...

Surprised there aren't arrows on it too, they've slung everything else at it!

SCENE ONE: an olde time flag shop, interior. Customer enters...

"Hi! Got any unique flags left?"
"Just these two, but they're both ex display. This one is stained and this one has a bad tear in it"
"Could you cut the two good halves out and sew them together?"
    "Ummm... yeah"
"Great. Can you make sure the two halves line up nicely?"
    "Errrr.... sure...."

Although, Merionethshire ceased to exist in 1974 and that flag was adopted in 2015 :p

"It was selected by readers of Scilly News in a 2002 vote and then registered with the Flag Institute as the flag of the islands"

And it looks even better in a real photo.
