I will stay loyal to the Irish and vote Connacht

    Nottingham is pretty flag.

Connachts flag on the other hand is powerful and historic - over 500 years of use.
    representing the west, defiant, glorious.
Azure blue is the most beautiful colour on a flag and the white compliments it gloriously.
A fearsome eagle to boot representing the anglo-irish class unifying with the Arm representing the olde Irish.
I know I'm a proud Connacht man, but damn. That's a cracking flag.
    Connacht abú

Nottinghamshire - 1) it's got Robin Hood on it; and 2) the Connacht flag is sh*t and I'm mystified as to how it's got this far.

    Connacht, great colour and contrast.

Nottinghamshire is the best Flag in the competition, the colours are great and the Robin Hood in the middle is an amazing touch.

Connacht bias will see it through again though

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,921 ✭✭✭✭BonnieSituation

Connacht by far the best one left.

Nottinghamshire is a good idea poorly implemented.

    So for me, Connacht.

Connacht. Each half is cool in its own right and while the binary nature of it can be off-putting, it's also very unique.

And the other one looks like it should be on a can of peas.

Nottinghamshire, because it has Robin Hood and because I'm baffled as to what Connacht is doing at this stage of the tournament.

    Connaught

  • Registered Users Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

I'm gonna call that the shocker of all shockers. Had Nottinghamshire down as outright winner going by all the comments from early on.

    Connacht advances to the Final

    What bias?

There's like a half dozen people living there.

Nottinghamshire flag looks like something an intermediate paint user would knock up.

I also noticed that I've interchangeably used the Connaught/Connacht spellings. This wasn't on purpose at all!

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,544 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

I'm late, as always. But what is wrong with you people?!?! :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

The votes have started to come in. I'll admit that I didn't see an Irish entry making it this far but I did think Connacht would make it the furthest out of the four provinces.

    It does.

And Connacht does look a tad ugly. I give you but thought to date back to 11th Century and

The arms may have been granted to Ruaidrí Ua Conchobair, King of Connacht and the last High King of Ireland before the Norman invasion,
How dya like them arrows? :)

A flag is more than the colours or patterns.
It's the history the meaning the representation.

That Connacht flag represents the poor people of the west - the downtrodden souls of Europe, banished by Cromewll

I beseech do it for west - vote Connacht

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,644 ✭✭✭SineadSpears

Disgusted that Suffolk and Leinster didn't get this far.

some people have no class :pac:

I would normally spell it Connacht.

but the first time you posted the flag as 'Connaght', I spelled it that way too in my vote.

didn't even realize I had done that until someone pointed out that there were two different spellings.

    monkey see, monkey do ...

Surprised there aren't arrows on it too, they've slung everything else at it!

SCENE ONE: an olde time flag shop, interior. Customer enters...

"Hi! Got any unique flags left?"
"Just these two, but they're both ex display. This one is stained and this one has a bad tear in it"
"Could you cut the two good halves out and sew them together?"
    "Ummm... yeah"
"Great. Can you make sure the two halves line up nicely?"
    "Errrr.... sure...."
