Yes indeed but they don't want it to return to normal.

Look at them going on about an outdoor summer, and then the SS division of the Gardai are out on the streets dispersing crowds - that are gathering OUTSIDE in warm sunny weather.

This is Orwellian , and it's sad people can't see what's happening.

Again, I ask people , the people on here that are loving this, at what point will you say this is too much ??

When the Gards are out on the streets blocking people from gathering when we have 100% of the population vaccinated - or at the airports fining people €2,000 for leaving the country , will you say "enough is enough" then?

I feel overwhelmed by this statement. There's about everything in it, SS division, Orwellian, 100% vaccinated and OUTSIDE.

    People loving it.

Can I ask people's opinion on why Simon Donnelly and the CMO drove down to limerick Friday.
Was this all a PR stunt?
Despite the surge in cases the last 3 weeks, there were more cleaners in limerick hospital than with covid Friday. 7 with 1 in ICU.

I'm not sure if some of the posts are from people genuinely scared or they're just trying to frighten people.

Meanwhile something like 4,000 pubs are preparing to open tomorrow but that goes largely ignored.

    Most odd.

Firstly, you'll have to find the 'people on here that are loving this'. Are there any?

Gigs '24 - Ben Ottewell and Ian Ball (Gomez), The Jesus & Mary Chain, The Smashing Pumpkins/Weezer, Pearl Jam, Green Day, Stendhal Festival, Forest Fest, Electric Picnic, Pixies, Ride, Therapy?, Public Service Broadcasting, IDLES, And So I Watch You From Afar

Wait till you see even when 100% are vaccinated it will be "restrictions untill covid is completely wiped out" - which of course will never happen as it's an endemic virus, but they know this and this is what they want.

You'll never get 100% vaccinated. It won't be, "restrictions until Covid is completely wiped out," because, as you rightly say, it will never happen. Who is 'they' and what do 'they' want?

Well if I say what I would like to, to certain posts, I'll probably get a boot up to my ass. Like the post i responded to, absolute stupid pile up of letters. Without any idea.

Of course it goes ignored, what else would be left to complain about. Actually I'm wrong, something will be invented pretty fast. Cuz reopening is not fast enough.

We're on the right track right now, would be good if we don't get derailed.

There is still 80 percent of the world to be vaccinated so I guess we should be carefull because us Irish with less then 0.1 percent of the world's population might cause a new one before we are all vaccinated or should we wait for the rest of the world to be vaccinated just to be sure .

In essence yes a PR exercise as the incidents were high and to show the care about the West. Yes incidents should be kept as low as possible so someone does not get it bad however unless it to an increase in hospitalizations (as is happening in some places in the UK) then it should be okay. Which is why nothing was done

If I put your maths aside. We are actually reopening all the businesses and hospitality unless you missed it. No need to go full spastic as some do, cuz everything could change very fast. I rather see opportunities opened for all of us to make money, in common sense manners.

    Absofeckinlutely!

Here's a orwellian scene which shows bins set on fire by the "SS gardai" just to blame people just having an outdoor summer...

Up the north for the weekend. Christ the level of normality is something else compared the prison below. Barely a mask in sight in the hotel, heaven.

Isn't great to see the youths having fun. Ideally should be one every street. Damn SS Gardai taking our freedoms.

I would genuinely consider it at this stage. I said to the wife earlier, I’ll give it till everyone is vaccinated below, if that isn’t the end of it, I’ll be considering a move somewhere. Scoff all you like, you might enjoy the endless misery but some of us have lives to live.

Anything what happened since the covid shìt hit us , didn't stop me from living. Maybe you are just creating endless misery for yourself.

You’re right. Everything has been totally normal the last year in Ireland, living life to the full. I clearly dreamt it all.

Haven't got a clue about your dreams. I didn't say everything is normal, did I? Life is about finding positives, even the small ones. Otherwise I'll be up here complaining about Ireland 24/7

Yeah I imagine the rough element of outdoor drinking this week won't bother going next week as they won't get in to places in their tracksuits and hopefully the streets won't be busy so they'll just stay home. Crowd will be regulated and separated within venues only thing is the 11:30 closing will push everyone onto the street together hopefully that won't cause any issues.

Yes think the reopening tomorrow will make a big difference, people being able to sit down with their food, drink and people not so clustered. Trouble makers always been around but now with some normality returning hopefully things will get much better. Yes the 11.30 is very early alright considering no discos, nightclubs etc yet. But still a start to a better summer, cinemas back tomorrow too and other things so quite a bit more to do. In comparison to the long lonely dark evenings of winter lockdown these are good days. Just need the weather to hold up now.

Not sure the opening of outdoor stuff tomorrow will deter the scrotes, but I'm happy to be wrong.

I expect there'll be another bunch of lads causing trouble tomorrow who'll need to be knocked around the head. And the faux outrage will ensue again.
