tbh would people even of stopped living if we weren't told/made in that regard ?

The volume of traffic on the roads in the last week is higher than I've seen anytime in the last 15 months. People seem to be just going about their day to day business again. I've no reason to think that pubs, clubs and concerts wouldn't be packed if they were allowed open in the morning. The majority aren't afraid of covid anymore. New normal will hopefully be banished to the buzzword graveyard in the not too distant future.

Well no as been pointed out the " vulnerable" have not all been vaccinated. The absolute majority of those vaccinated have received just one dose and some of the at risk categories - four and seven and others have yet to receive either their first dose / second dose .

The stated aim has been to get approx 80% of all adults vaccinated for the purpose of herd immunity. This has been well highlighted.

The current public health advice is to avoid crowded areas and to stay 2m away from others not in your group. If people crowding together can't observe those guidelines then there needs to be some level of intervention because as we know the risk outdoors is low - it is not zero especially where people are socialisating in densely packed crowds.

The fact is the number of new cases overall have not gone down over the last few months- and case numbers are back up over the last few days - so yes most likley we're seeing the effects of increased levels of socialisation. And the thing is - its activities around outdoor socialising - such as mass transport which have been identified as more significant risk of infection.

So yeah there needs to be some proper recognition around these issues.

Case numbers are irrelevant. Hospital numbers below 100, ICU below 30. It's nanny stateism gone mad that we are still where we are. Reopening pubs with the same restrictions as 6 months ago despite 3 million vaccines administered. 200 people at a match in a 40,000 stadium. Scapegoating young people to try and enjoy themselves outdoors. Gas. More people under 45 died in car crashes wearing a seat belt in Ireland last year than under 45s died of Covid. Do we ban driving until we find a better safety mechanism than seat belts? While we trudge along at a snails pace, each week means more borrowing of money by the government.

    Seriously?

Actually some people do need nannies.

I didn't stop living nor I was told to stop living.

Did you stop living? Or somebody told you to do it?

    Huh

Do you think couple of hundred people on the top of each other is a low risk in terms of the spread? Shouting, spitting and whatever else. Wise would be to keep it safe till vaccines are distributed to a certain level of population to avoid any possible clusterfùcks.

Well, if none of those people have covid, which is quite likely considering the level of cases in ireland, then it is zero risk. Even if a couple were infected, outdoors is extremely low risk.

We now know that actually asymptomatic spread isn't a big thing with this virus at all. Time to stop acting as if everyone is unknowingly infected and spreading it surely?

Well I agree to point outdoor is low risk.

Unless you create scenario when it's not.

If nightclubs were open this evening there’d be queues around the block to get into them I’d say such would be the demand.

This is from a boxing event in England tonight.
Indoors and not a mask in sight. Meanwhile in Ireland Cops are battering kids for gathering outdoors.

Every action has a reaction. If some peeps decide to go full stupid they have to count in consequences.

Nothing to do with outdoor summer!

In what way that warrants riot police on our streets??

Still don't see any kids being battered by cops.

You missed the earlier video of a young fella getting beaten by a garda weilding a baton. Or deliberately pretended you couldn't see it.

Nah you came out with nonsense justifying riot police on the streets but then couldn't provide any specifics. You seem very confused...bless.

Oh dear you really are having a bad evening :pac:. Let me quote it all out for your again as you appear to be extremely confused. I'll spell it out again.

What "full stupid", as you put it, warrants riot police on our streets?

Oh dear, I didn't mention riot police at all. You did! All I said is when you act like clown you have to expect consequences. It has nothing to do with outdoor summer etc. You are deliberately trying to justify mess on the streets. If there's anyone extremely confused, I would bet my weekly pay, it's you.

Bless, you're all over the show :pac:. Tell me what happened that warranted riot police on the streets? Or do you have nothing to point to?
