Well thank you - I also think its a fair point as well that they were eegits giving everyone else the finger. Glad you agree. Afaik crowds there were disbanded by the Gardai and a number of people arrested - or did I hear that wrong? No matter.

But I reckon you're way in too deep beyond that there if you at that level of convoluted speculation

Ditto. Btw what restrictions were they following did you say?

It remains the point is eegits giving everyone (all those keeping restrictions) the finger imho. And if you really want to go further - I suppose they included themselves in that equation.

Now as much as love to play the game " Things no one said" welcome to the ignore list... ;)

So you are only referring to the tiny minority of people in the city centre who may have been unruly, rather than the vast majority of people out enjoying themselves in general.

So the people who went into the city centre, and followed the restrictions, were giving a finger to everybody else who was also following the restrictions, how?
Lockdown creep has been a boon for the puritanical and joyless busybodies in society, personified in the CMO.

Indeed -you might not have seen it and i thought i was mishearing it(i did hear it as couple of people in work were saying it today)-but Claire Byrne in the trailer for her show last night introduced it with -"Watch out,Dr Tony is about".Sadly she was saying it with straight face. She is incredible at fear mongering at every slight chance

So the general consensus, not just here, but politicians and medical experts seem to be saying it too, that the crowds outdoors last weekend will do little or no harm in terms of cases.

Holohan was bang out of order, it also begs the question, why the big delay in letting crowds attend sporting events in greater numbers than the 100 and 200 that will soon be allowed.

People will always leave litter at beaches and beauty spots. Often due to lack of bins. Lack of bins is often to deter people who don't want to pay for household rubbish disposal from ramming them all the time.

Often due to people not giving a fück about their country and the state they leave it in.
Babies still relying on mumma to pick up their mess.

Vaccination levels and big bad VARIANTS

but TBH Dr Tony doesn't seem over enthusiastic letting any restrictions relax and the Tweet outburst last weekends implies that

Well be fair you brought the bed in ;)

And to be fair its a discussion. Little point in arguing over that type of up in the air shyte eitherway.

But have US tour operators returned to the UK or are you speculating?

You are just unbelievable, 1 post you say something and the next one you negate you did and you try to support the opposite, then you twist any conversation into dissecting each word to suit your needs: I should have known better, you've been at it since the beginning, but again I fell for it and tried to have a proper reasoning, unsuccessfully.

No worries sir, all is good, however I won't get back to you anymore, just one last time in reference to the speculation of US tour operators in the UK: it was brought up by you when you explained that we won't see US tour operators in here because we are on Level 4 of that famous list. So if they are not coming here they are obviously going also to the UK as reported by another user:
Ireland's slow re-opening is becoming a big issue imo.
I'm on holiday in the UK and have met 2 groups of North Americans who would usually be in Ireland now.
If another Summer is lost a huge number of tourists won't come back unfortunately.

But yeah they go to the UK because we are level 4 on the US travel advisory list, not because our hospitality is still closed.

maybe we could wear masks when we have colds, like the Chinese. You know think of other people for once and not be me feiners like most Irish people.

Let’s hope the next pandemic kicks off in China, that way it’ll have no chance of getting a foothold. What with them wearing masks and all.

    Well no.

Make up whatever you want about what was said. I tried to keep it simple because you seem to be going off on tangents.

Eitherway its called a discussion which normally requires some bit of back and forward

I asked a simple question. But no I didnt see anyone saying US tour operators were operating in the UK btw. I saw a reference to American visitors only. Hence my question

If you don't know the answer then no worries.

Tell that to my family, colleagues and friends because i don't know how many times ive had to remind people of this and i know i wasnt the only one in that situation, there absolutely was confusion around it. The only times they ever were clear on the reporting was when they had to report way over the trend like on April 24th last year.

    Nope.

Here is the release from the 12th, before the hack.
The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been notified of 8 additional deaths related to COVID-19.

    Of the deaths notified today:

    3 occurred in March
    2 occurred in February
3 occurred in January or earlier

I can't see how people could be confused.

Are Americans incapable of travelling when it isn't an organized tour or something? They probably booked flights and hotels and went themselves. They arent going to bother doing that to somewhere where things aren't open yet, the fact that the UK is level 3 'strongly reconsider travel' clearly doesn't faze them.

I see dublin City Council are putting in place extra facilities for revellers this weekend.

I know of loads of pubs opening Friday night (all "down the country")

Great to see society give 2 fingers to Holohan and his believers.

This weekend will truly be the end if the covideers. Good riddance to the lot if them, their "new variants", their "fourth wave" and all the whinging they persist with.

It's amusing seeing "personal responsibility" being trotted out by the great and the good in relation to littering when the concept is like kryptonite to them 99% of the time

Some of the whining that’s going on in this forum regarding littering at the weekend is quite frankly embarrassing. Same people who have been twitching their curtains for the entirety of the last year are now desperately clutching to what they realise may be their last opportunity for outrage.

People have had medical screenings cancelled. Surgeries postponed. Been unable to sit beside their dying parents or pregnant wives, and this crowd.. this sorry, pitiful crowd are up in arms about an excess of littering which took place on a summer’s evening at the end of the longest lockdown in Europe. Give me a break.

Many of these were the people that were delivering food to you in your sterile bunkers and those that continued working in shops, or were made redundant by political decisions taken by this government.

I was out on Friday/Saturday night. It was glorious. People were so, so happy. Beaming ear to ear. Literally euphoric. There was so much happiness and good will. All ages, colours and creeds. It was a beautiful thing. So sorry some of you missed out.

Absolutely, I am loving this velvet revolution where Holohan and his covideers are being obliterated. They are getting absolutely shredded.

Last weekend was difficult for them but their future is grim.

There’ll be no shortage of outrage on BH Monday here. An abundance of pics will be available of people outdoors enjoying themselves over the weekend, evidence of a litter/pee crisis, plus a couple of arrests and probably a far right/anti-vaxxers parade just ripe for outrage (and a good dose of castigation from on-high for good measure).

Forget the Green Jersey. Hair shirts at the ready.

Nah, I think the covideers know they are beaten. They even admitted here today that nobody was breaking restrictions in Dublin last weekend.

Since the first lockdown the woods have been full of discarded masks, antiseptic wipes, water bottles and other stuff that I presume was too ‘dangerous’ to bring home. Wasn’t teenagers doing that.

The covideers will be crawling around knawing at the carpets. The rest of us will be ripping into pints.

    Beautiful days ahead.

If the virus was really as deadly as the media, doom merchants and fear mongers make out masks, gloves and wipes would need to be treated as contaminated hazardous waste to be incinerated.
