Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Another nice little tester straight after the rest day!

A slightly odd stage on paper, pretty much downhill for the first 50km, straight into a Cat 3 which is 3km @ 9%, then another 30km of descent onto a 50km or so stretch of flat road before the 2 Cat 1's, 14.8km @ 7.6% and 11.5km @ 9.6%.

It looks like both of those last 2 climbs have steeper ramps though, with the last one keeping a nice 12%+ bite right until the end.

Bernal to demolish the field in awe-inspiring fashion? The bookies seem to think so...

    Odds from Bet365
    Egan Bernal 10/3
    Antonio Pedrero 12/1
    Dan Martin 14/1
    Davide Formolo 16/1
    Guilio Ciccone 16/1

Campenaerts was a non starter today, had an injury to his leg from the other day I think.

Kelly sounds in good form today. A lot more lively and talkative.

Delighted to see him win the other day, he's been so aggressive in recent times that it really felt like he'd earned it.

Dan Martin as part of the break. A couple of decent climbers like Moscon with him

Free ride for Ineos so hopefully they stay away. Bike exchange doing the work in the peleton

Theyre gonna need a lot more than 4 minutes at the base of the first climb

Dan looks in good form but Bike Exchange are putting pay to his chances of contesting for the stage victory.

Bernal down to 2, Caruso on his own

This climb is on rouvy, for anyone who is interested!

    Did it over Christmas, killer.

For late readers, Passo San Valentino.

    Dan looks in good form

He's working his arse off in this break anyway, very few contributors to the break despite the gap reducing :(

I'm mostly listening to the TV commentary rather than watching, but it seems like Dan & Moscon are doing the majority of the work in the breakaway?

The 2 of them appear to have dropped the rest

Whatever about how the stage plays out it's great to see such aggression from Dan. Just completely split the break with that acceleration :D

Yeah it's great that he has now got rid of the deadwood

Well, he's now the only one doing any work. Moscon and Movistar rider (Pedrero) just sitting in behind him.

Remco having the craic now the pressure is off

Gap came down to about 2’20 (quickly from 4 minutes) but it’s 2’40 now

No flat left, downhill and then back up a monstrous climb

Very few domestiques left for any team (inc bike exchange while done all the work)

Can Dan climb the final climb faster than Bernal? Let's hope so! and faster than the other 3 breakawayers too!

    crash few down

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,121 ✭✭✭mr spuckler

Big crash! Looked like Remco went slightly over the barriers trying to avoid it...he looks shook now too.

Remco would be getting flashbacks from that

Remco nearly over the armco there towards the back of it.

It looked like Vlasov down to me but Hatch didn’t mention him
