In fairness he didn't describe it as mint condition (unless he amended the description in the ad in the interim). Bargain it is not though.

He did, and mint it is not...

Would someone give 3 grand for this. It looks in good shape alright, NCT till May 2022 and only drove 70 miles in 15 months.

I got two of these a couple of years ago for less than €800, both still running.
Anyone want the pair of them for €4k:D

That’s bonkers. You could get them 10 years ago for less than that.

What about this Toyota Supra? Apparently it doesn't have any modifications but I never knew the mk4 Supra had the colour option of black, I thought the darkest colour they came in was a dark blue.

Why is that in this dreamer thread. I actually think it's cheap considering what you get but who the hell bought that new and spec'd it auto.

That spec is like finding leprauchan ****€ if it's a 2jz gte.
All original what will essentially be a survivor car, bit much, but given the 90' -00's jap performance market not shocking
Barrett Jackson is known to achieve mental prices on a good day.

Not a shock with Barret Jackson and the US classic market. It's a very different market indeed. Doubly so for JDM iron. Most of the good stuff they didn't get back in the day. Now they didn't exactly get hot hatches or Group B homologation stuff either, but those cars didn't have the Fast and the Furious and video games exposing a generation to them. So the good JDM stuff was rare to them and prices reflect that. Especially for examples that survived without being riced out, or stolen, or crashed.

I did think the US 25 year law that would allow them to import from the motherland would have hit local values, but if anything it's raised them. Though what has long surprised me on US based forums I've been on is how little the American petrol heads knew about the European market and how many of the hotter JDM stuff we got in this neck of the woods. It's completely off their radar and when a few years back when that stuff was in the doldrums in price, but with plenty of availability they were gobsmacked at the prices here in Ireland. Even today they'd be better off looking in mainland Europe for some JDM stuff because they would be much cheaper in general and would have the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car so would suit them more.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

This is a stunning 1993 Supra. Same owner for the last 20+ years.
    https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11302942

Which one would you prefer, the Supra or this Sierra Cosworth?

The black Supra isn't a turbo though

You are right in all. Mistake in the ad so with the HP figure. I just seen the power rating and assumed it was makes sense though regarding the cheap price. Bit dear so being auto and N/A. It is clean though.

    Goooood luck!
I'd sooner have the N/A Auto Supra and pump another 15k sterling into it.

This R34 V Spec 2 Skyline has only 19K miles, but for the price, you could buy a Ferrari instead.

I see the point you're making but I'd have the Nissan if I it wasn't like 3x my yearly wages.

Edit: eh, or 5 times my wages even. :pac:

That's actually roughly the standard for original R34 gtrs
155k? I believe was the last auction price
They've been in the 100k+ category in auctions since I was a teen I'm nearly 30

Obviously wrong side drive and for that kinda of money you'd get a VSPEC II nur edition, nismo, ztune or one of the rare specs

She's a beaut though and personally I'd take a skyline over a similar vintage ferrari any day.

Some rich yank will buy that and put it in a garage until it's old enough to insure no doubt.
    Or even a continental.

    Sounds like a total twat.

NO MORE TIME WASTERS OR DREAMERS IF YOU HAVEN'T GOT YOU CREDIT UNION LOAN ALREADY SORTED THEN DONT WASTE MY TIME

    1994 Honda Civic EG6 Sir2 83k kilometres
Car was originally black but with it being fully restored I resprayed the car in Carnival yellow as these cars came in that colour from factory but is very rare, car has had new arches and any rust fixed, body worked , primed and painted in a 2 stage base and clear, specs listed below – everything has been done to a high standard and using all new oem parts .
    Exterior
Full oem look except for Carbon bonnet, vented wings and spoon spoiler.
    Fully sealed underneath
    Interior
Full oem sir 1 interior with grey dash and door cards to match
CARPET AND HEADLINER ARE NOT GREAT
Couldn’t find a full mint sir2 interior so opted for the full sir1, looks well.
    Engine
    Original b16a
Engine was fully stripped cleaned with all new bottom end bearings and all new honda gasket kit including water pump and head, head was reseated and skimmed with new honda head gasket, fully serviced with new plugs and filters.
New 4-2-1 2.75 inch manifold with black heat spray
Has full blue hose kit with new double core radiator
Itg maxogen carbon airbox with new itg filter
    Suspension
New oem shocks + tops with 30mm lowering springs all round
Arms, frames all powder coated black
All new powerflex bushes, all new bearings
New discs, pads, calipers front and rear with all new braided lines.
    Wheels
Rota slipstreams with all new tires
Car has no nct as of yet it was sent for test and failed on rack and pinion (rack has been replaced) emissions (cat has been fitted) 2 rear bushes (the adjustable nuts where loose they have been tightned)
    Wiper linkage (has been replaced)
Car needs a driver side windscreen trim thats it everything for the nct has been done it will need the headlights focused and tracking needs to be done and it will fly tru the test
Pasanger seat is missing a rail but I will get it sorted

No time wasters strictly no test drivers if you haven't got 10k

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,610 ✭✭✭cpoh1

That Civic is definitely in the wrong thread, looks really clean and will likely go for close to that money once those NCT bits are sorted.

Not sure why you think he sounds like a twat?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,730 ✭✭✭✭CianRyan

That's on the money for a clean B16 EG these days.
There seems to be a disconnect with those not clued into the Japanese scene, prices are gone crazy.
