I’m thinking it might only be family of players etc allowed in this year. Or maybe each player gets a number of tickets to distribute, 10 per player on squad. Who knows really, but I’d say it will be a conservative approach regarding crowds at games

No doubt 'lads and ladies in the know" will be left in but keep hush about it

Those fully vaccinated should be allowed attend league games in May however i'd expect a cautious Government will wrongfully continue their behind closed doors policy for that competition

Come June, July will low hospital numbers and the vaccination target met it would make zero sense to have no spectators especially when other sports and countries will likely have 1000s at matches.

I don't think that would work. How are the GAA to differentiate between those vaccinated and those not? And what would stop somebody vaccinated from giving their ticket to somebody who hasn't been vaccinated? It would be a logistical nightmare for them.

Yeah it's a bit far fetched. I'm vaccinated and the only "proof" I have is a card with the 2 dates and batch numbers on it. Anyone with a scanner and colour printer could produce infinite copies of the thing and sign their name to it.

We need an Iris/thumbprint recognition scanner that's connected to a central vaccination database thats connected to a turnstile. Dream on....

Being serious it would need an update to the Covid app which would cost money to develop and then the even bigger problem would be trusting that the lad on the turnstile is checking it and not letting all his buddies or the well connected club alickadoos in on the sly

Given the Dublin, Monaghan, Cork and Down breaches and the covid outbreaks linked to clubs last year, I would expect the powers-to-be to will be ultra-conservative about allowing crowds into matches.

Yes, it would be impossible to successfully police. Zero chance it’s going to happen.

Lads, it's been 7 months since kids have played matches! Anyone have any idea when this will start again?

You'd imagine matches will be able to resume from June 7th.

I heard last week that Dublin Camogie had a provisional start date of weekend 12/13 June and LGFA the week after , which matches up with yesterday's announcement.
I'm hopeful that contact training might return in the 10th May to get them ready

The county where I coach is only doing u13, u15 and u17 competition's. No word on u14 or u16. I'm with the u17s but we only have 2 proper aged u17 kids with us. Primarily u16s with about 8 u15s thrown in as well. Great bunch of lads but physically they might get slammed this year at u17.

Great to see a county outline dates and evenings of competitions. Let's everyone start to put a plan in place.

Could be all systems go for spectators during the club season hopefully. I've given up on being able to attend any county games this year.

Positive but still very annoyingly cautious compared to our neighbours in the UK who had higher numbers at premier league etc games when they started out

Tbf, they're vaccinating far larger numbers. Their daily figures would likely be greater than our monthly figures. And our lads have been over cautious in everything

Pretty sure they also killed a lot more people unnecessarily before they got to this point

Yeah. I wouldn't be taking the lead from the UK on anything to do with this tbh.

I wonder will the GAA implement a fair system to get the tickets

An allocation for players first and then a random lotto open to club members and season ticket holders.

I would love to see them go to genuine club volunteers but if they go straight through the clubs they will probably end up with those local wasters and hangers on who always seem to get ticket some how

It's been mentioned in another thread too regarding season tickets. How though? Nobody actually holds a season ticket at the moment

I do genuinely think a portion of tickets for this year's games should go to front line workers involved with Covid. It's easy to clap at 8pm on nights but it's now we need to thank them.
