Reopenings seem as far away as ever, hard to see them agreeing with Outdoor dining as of yet because it has the potential to be festival like if the weather is good

So many conflicting reports regarding the €9 meal, some saying its gone and others saying they haven't decided yet

Massive envy watching pubs been allowed open in the UK in the next few weeks

There's been no announcement of any reopening up north yet.

It's possible, however it's just as possible that if pubs up north open with restrictions, they won't be arsed dealing with day trippers.

Yeah probably but the government wont see that and they think people will do what there telling them

Obv will be easier for people in the border counties to travel for the piss ups. Say travelling to Newry from Cork/Waterford/Kerry/Wexford etc is not an option

So if they do open anytime in the summer which is far from certain I take it you won`t be travelling up from Waterford then.

Yeah a few will go across but I depends on what’s you’re calling a flood of people. If you’re imagining thousands of people, the probably not. If you’re imagining tens or even a few hundred, then maybe. They can’t hire a bus together, can’t all travel in a car together and can’t stay the night as hotels aren’t open.

So some people who can travel in small groups and get home the same day might go across the border. If you call that a flood, then yes people will flood across the border.

They'll be coming across Lough Foyle like Dunkirk

    Sure they will.

We are weeks away from people flooding across from border counties for outside drinking.

That's why the UK is weeks away from passing 3 million vaccines across the border.

May will see negligible infections in NI and full opening will be on the cards

What date are pubs opening in the North?

There are no dates set for NI but you would have to say that it'll be the same as the UK given the numbers.

Scotlands not the same, Wales haven't made an announcement either.

It's not the uk, it's England.

Actually I have no idea what you're trying to say, so I'll clarify my statement.

Northern Ireland will be 0 deaths and negligible figures in weeks. They will open up. They'll probably be ahead of England.

No. No they are not. Christ almighty can people stop believing that nonsense. It was a political PR exercise. We are not getting 3 million vaccines off the UK in the next few weeks or for that matter the next few months.

England are opening pubs outdoors on April 12th and indoors on May 17th

Scotland are opening outdoor drinking and indoor dining April 26th, indoor drinking with time limits may 17th

Wales have not announced when they are reopening hospitality yet

NI have not announced when they are reopening hospitality.

There is no "uk plan" each region has their own map.

Yes and I just said that I expect NI to follow suit on April 12th. Shall we come back to that then given current numbers and reconvene this conversation?

What makes you think that? It's reported in multiple media sources that NI will do this. Arlene said something similar on live TV.

Firstly NI doesn't get to make those decisions as London controls the plan. Arlene thinks UK should share but listen to the detail.
When the UK has vaccinated their own people first.
Look a little further and you'll see the Irish government are unaware of any offer.
Look a little further and the suggestion is that if and thats a big if, it does happen it could be August.
Let's be honest, if they offer vaccines in August it's a bit like offering the use of a fire extinguisher after the house has burned down.

By your very own rationale, the UK will protect Ni by vaxxing the border counties. Just like the US is doing to Canada and Mexico.

Again let's come back to this when things have moved on. It's not a thing to get vexed about. In some way, it's progress.

OK money where your mouth is. I look forward to receiving your PM with all the location details. If the booze is good quality stuff I might even decide not to grass on you for a little while longer.:);)

Nope that's not what I meant but if it makes you happy to interpret what I said that way you go right ahead!

I agree that London does control what happens so I'm not sure what you mean by interpret the way I see.

    But let's see what happens.

    Always have that thought

Imagine knowing a place that you werent invited to, you could hang them out to dry to the local guards

on a separate note does anyone else think pub life will thrive when it finally returns ?. Some places will always be depressing kips and will never change or care but i think places will be mobbed almost every weekend
