This is brilliant, you've also solved the housing crisis - just don't go indoors anymore.....

At no stage in my post did i say you had to go out , or that you couldnt go go home at some stage .But it should be encouraged to meet outdoors and ask people not to huddle inside with family or friends visiting
Or have you a better idea ?

Obviously, restrictions are necessary. However, why does the government not recognise that increasing the national debt (i.e. borrowing while forcing most businesses to close) is very bad for this country? After all, Ireland will have to pay-back this money - in addition to the money our government was forced to borrow from the Troika.

Just watching a tv3 report from a hospital in galway and in the background there is a pc running windows xp! Kind of sums up the hse and the government,

Balinasloe, Portiuncula to be exact. I installed that PC about... 16 years ago.

The notion that we can't do outdoor dining in this country is wildly exaggerated. The weather isn't that bad.

Have to agree, a lot of restaurants last year had blankets and heaters. After 3 months of this, I'd settle for that.

Totally agree..temps are perfectly mild most of the year which is a big plus. Much of the world is way too HOT to sit out in during Summer, Ireland is one region that is probably pretty pleasant to sit out in from April-September. Maybe not perfect like Mediterrean places but there really is a lot worse worldwide, where humidity and punishing heat make everyone retreat indoor much more than a mild/rainy climate would like ours. Some umbrellas/parasols and Dublin/Ireland will perfectly adapt to outdoor dining, the rain is the only valid issue and that is totally exaggerated, in Dublin it only rains 1/3 days of the year. It's a lot but much less than some people make out. And in winter, some heaters and wind protectors and a blanket will make that feasible too.

Happily relieved to see that drop in cases. Deaths still high though :( bit obviously they lag significantly.

More low numbers though please for rest of week

Tomorrow could be high enough, I'm not speculating what it could be but cases 149 off swabs, of course they don't ever match up exactly but there could be the guts of an extra 120 or so there to report. Now they could filter through over a few days but if not we could see a day like Sunday repeated potentially.

Either way it gives people a little bit of a lift when there's a lower number reported which is good

It's Tuesday, numbers always tend to be low

Need to see a few days of consistently low cases at least

Cases roughly similar to the previous 2 Tuesdays. Tuesday is our day with lowest case numbers since the start of the year.

Its a rise on last Tuesday. Weekly cycle all that crap.

While it sounds like a good number it's a not good particularly good news.

Agreed. Last 4 Tuesdays were 359,311,349 and 371 today. Fits the trend of stagnation with possible growth.

There are some people who still don’t understand (or pretend to not understand?) how deaths are reported.

This leads them to believe that NPHET are ‘holding back’ deaths for shock factor. It’s nuts tbh.
