He would love to jump up over that desk and go for George

Is George the one who just asked if NPHET have given up hope?

Poor Ronan having to answer that.

He must have moments where he has to focus more on controlling his facial expression than his actual answer :)

Dr Glynn just said, "we will have high levels of disease in the community".

If 300-500 a day is high, then I give up!

Those asking questions are not journalists. Any real journalist worth their salt are not let within an asses roar of questioning those with power in Ireland.

Very poor questions . Would love if they could ask about where are cases happening. Why is incidence higher in the east compared to the rest of the country.

No it's not? We have the third lowest infection rate in Europe?

Does anyone know why the daily numbers thread isn’t updated anymore?

Philip Nolan: "We think we know why cases have increased - increases in mobility and interaction".

    Well, that's a shocker.

And what does NPHET expect given that schools were re-opened 2-weeks ago?

End of June it is so

So once again the 3 examples of case studies of disease spread given by the public health doctor lead to no deaths and no hospitalisations.
Why can't they give more relevant examples where there were adverse outcomes if they want to warn people?

Doom agus gloom, FFS, not an ounce of positivity, a wait and see approach as if the Lord will part the seas with a new vaccine that will fall from the sky.

    Today's press conference was terrible.
Nothing to be learned from it at all, same old messages, same old stats nothing interesting at all.

It seems like we are stuck in groundhog day.

Stuck in an infinity loop with no end in sight. I'm truly ashamed to be Irish right now.

I've said it before, but they need to create a recording of Glynn etc., repeating the same intro, but change the number of new cases/deaths via robot.

Hit the play button and the rest of the press conference is pretty much applicable to all the mundane, dopey questions that these self-embellished "journalists" ask each week.

I dont watch them, but did any journalist ask when are they going re-commence the AZ vaccination program ?

In the park beside my house, young people were drinking until all hours this morning. Garda didn’t bother dealing with them

    Young people have given up

Maybe if you didn’t spend so much time reading up on covid it wouldn’t feel like Groundhog Day.

    Go for a walk mate

    All I hear is “ concerned “
They were concerned with 30 cases , 8000 cases and 500 cases . Its all white noise now , is anyone listening anymore ??

You should only be concerned when they wheel out the adjective, "deeply".

meanwhile, they take days to make pro-active decisions , at a time of a pandemic, where we have been in lockdown for months. No ****ing urgency just doom and gloom, we are not doing enough, holdfirm nonsense.

and the public lap it up, from our betters.

Glynn was pointing to other countries in Europe that have cases growing quickly hence travel wouldn't be possible at this moment in time.

As vaccine rollout progresses we'll get whatever cert is needed to travel. The IT system for vacination here has the ability to issue vaccine certs for this very reason in the event that Europe brings in a common travel arrangement
