      349 seems low

Implies that Level 5 might be working after all.

Every now and then they have to throw a straight ball. The pattern cant be too obvious.

      I'm joking

With the weather, St Patrick's Day and Cheltenham, I'd say there'll be a ton of house parties happening this week.

        lift the 5km restriction immediately!

It makes no sense at all. Especially now that the good weather has arrived. Stop cooping people up in small parks in Dublin, all on top of each other. Allow people disperse!!!

We have four parks within the 5k . We cant use them on Sunday or Saturday afternoon as they are packed . We could be out walking on a near empty beach instead but can’t because it over 5 km
Its a nonsense based on no science

Gonna be some house parties across the country tonight. People are fed up.

Pity ya can't go to a regulated environment like a pub with table service or even have outdoor events to be setup.

But sure what can ya do. 300 or so in hospital out a population of 4,900,000.

Its not like the vaccinations are not working or anything.

Even a sense of hope of going back to Level 3 in April but the government treating us like fools.

        Protests should be interesting tomorrow!!!!

If people are going to party hopefully the do it outside tomorrow

Yeah we can definitely expect a bump in case numbers in a week or so.

Be interesting what the hospital numbers will be like if there is a surge.

True but at least the last few 500 days could still be a blip and not a trend, need to see next few days

Is there not often a drop off mon/Tues due to the weekend and a bump on Wednesday?

Yes but low 300s swab numbers yesterday and today so tomorrow's cases should be low enough too

So what % of people will be vaccinated by April 1st in Northern Ireland does anyone know?
Reason I ask is NI gov know they can start opening up slowly at that stage so I wonder how many people will be vaccinated.
Whatever that percentage is how does it compare to what we have vaccinated?

Schools: magical buildings in which Covid cannot spread

Of all the ways the "government" have treated the Irish like kids in the last 12 months, this is the worst

        Let me guess:

        RTE?

Nearly 1 month ago MM said the end is truly in sight. The day before St. Patricks day and we, the public, are still left blind.

I really don't think its dawned on a lot of people just how much longer we are going to live under essentially level 4 & 5.

Petrol station forecourts are going to be all be converted into garden centres shortly for the 2nd year running. That's how unrefined our blunt measures still are 1 year on.

Yes with numbers got from NPHET . The group with highest cases are teens who are not yet back in school .

        349 cases, 18 deaths

150 Dublin cases early in the week, and then there's over 200's later in the week - that seems to be happening regularly now.

      22. Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,200 ✭✭✭blowitupref

Yes but low 300s swab numbers yesterday and today so tomorrow's cases should be low enough too

Swab count will hopefully be under 600 tomorrow.

Swab numbers the last 3 Wednesdays

        10/3 - 606
        3/3 - 673
        24/2 - 716

        I'm not "retorting" anything

        I'm replying. So calm down

I'm not saying they made it up. I am saying they'll always be the "government"s media mouthpiece and will almost always spin things in their favour

Now Scotland have a clear plan out of lockdown.

When are we getting our plan? Is the expectation that we will get our plan in Early April? (I know construction is expected to resume on 5 April and personal services/gyms/hairdressers in Early to Mid May but there is a lack of any real detail beyond that).

        https://twitter.com/NicolaSturgeon/status/1371855196037517314

At least they are providing a goal for people. Perhaps it won't be met. But people need goals to focus and stay sane. If I thought I could have a pint in my local by 17th May per above, I'd find it a tad easier to get through the next 8 weeks!

There are no goals here, only despair.
