Its a pretty ludicrous claim .

This article explains why the actual impact of the package is likely to be a net negative.

    https://pomp.substack.com/p/the-stimulus-package-wont-cut-poverty

Well - That article gives one wealth managers view of what he thinks will happen , it's not in anyway a definitive "explanation" of the outcomes.

He may be right , but I suspect it's far more nuanced than that.

He also refers to the "Failing State bailouts" whilst not accounting for what that money will be spent on - Funding local government programs , most of which will aid the less well off - Training programs , local redevelopment etc.

The claims of "Will reduce poverty by 50%" are most definitely political hyperbole. However claiming that Inflation yields a net negative isn't much better.

Might inflation wipe out the gains from the Stimulus? perhaps, but worst case it leaves them standing still whereas without the stimulus , they'd be much much worse off.

In my view it will absolutely help the bottom 50% of US society and without question it will help them more than the last 2 stimulus packages.

Has he done a full press conference yet ? or how about a state of the union ?

I saw they cut off his feed when he didn't know if he was to take questions or not, asking some staffer what to do next..... utter sh1t show

State of the union isn’t done in the first year.
    I think.

Why are Trumpists so obsessed with press conferences? I supposed they got used to watching the former guy make an ass of himself every day. I don't remember previous presidents doing many press conferences, they were likely too busy doing the actual job, as Biden is now.

OK, how about the State of the Union address?

Something not quite right with the lack of camera time by Joe.

Not a Trumpeteer, but Joe is simply not a good man to put in front of the nation.

It has frequently not been given by a President in their first year. And this in itself has been frequently pointed out.

After the last guy, I think America is much better served by someone focused on delivering out of sight than bluffing in plain view.

His chief of staff apparently.. According to republicans who met with them recently..

In fairness..I know it causes you like cognitive dissonance or something, but it's been obvious to a lot of people there's something wrong with Joe for a while..

Ok then. So you believed Democrats who said Trump was under the control of Putin?

Was it FDR who was in a wheelchair for the last few years of his term and the American people didn't know?..

Maybe that's the reference with the painting..

Perhaps I am just an observer of things, but Joe is making all sorts of feck ups (slips of the tongue) in front of the camera.

I have said this before he became President, for me he doesn't seem to be someone who is well.

Having a parent who is the same age, putting the pressure on them at this stage in life to me would be unthinkable.

I'm not getting into the slagging of Dem V's Rep... I could care less.

On a pure human level something seems wrong with the man.

That article is written by a crypto enthusiast. I suspect he will deem anything which relates to the implementation of the traditional dollar to help people will something that will not work.

Thats true, he seems to be a bitcoin propagandist.

Biden is clearly working very hard and putting in long hours to try and heal the country.
I'm sure once he gets things on the up and cuts his hours that his appearances in front of the camera will improve.
I think anybody would be wrecked putting in the hours he is at the moment.

Cite your observations. There are all sorts of fake videos out there, at least 1 of the posters here repeatedly links to them.

Biden seems fine to me, doing great stuff for the US. His comeback to Steve Doocy while riding his bicycle was brilliant, followed by the one when Doocy asked him about Putin and he stated Putin asked about him and hoped he was well. Seems sharp as a tack, and as we're not doing dem vs. rep I won't mention 4 years of incoherent blather from the #IMPOTUS that required teams to explain, later, what he meant and usually the #IMPOTUS refuted those subsequent claims.

And, in the vein of 'your claim, your proof', what do you think is wrong with him and how did you reach that conclusion? Are you a qualified gerontologist or mental health professional?

I think Politics in 2021 being what they are and the media coverage which is put on every utterance and appearance that there is intense analysis put on the suitability of someone for the role of President in relation to a skill set which was not necessarily very relevant up until recently.

Biden definitely isn't going to be as sharp to respond as he was 20 years ago, but that accusation was levelled at him before the debates with Trump when it was said that Trump would destroy him, and that turned out to be completely incorrect.

Previous presidents have been known to have been very unwell while in office and to have made efforts to hide that from the public.
These included Kennedy and Roosevelt, who in particular was very unwell while in office. Ronald Raegen was also considered to have possible mental unwellness during his first Presidential term and ultimately was diagnosed with Alzheimers though that was 5 years after he left office.

In fact, we've also seen reports and accusations about Trumps mental acuity supposedly even Steve Bannon suspected he had dementia.

Bidens team probably know that no matter what he looks like or sounds like when he speaks, that Republicans and conservative media are going to use that to paint a picture that he is unwell so he is quite bluntly, not going to hand them a stick to beat him with.

AFAIK Biden said he would address the joint Houses once Covid is no longer a threat. But then he and his team just simply got down to business and didn't wait.

    Can we post gaffe videos?..

The best Joe one I saw was where he introduced his 12 year old granddaughter as his dead son..

The context of that clip was him talking about his dead son so not exactly shocking that a man with a stuttered misspoke while talking about an emotive topic. The fact that you garnered so much glee from it says a lot more about you...

Considering that the Junior Senator from that State is Josh Hawley, I don't have great expectations as to who they'll elect, unless it's a Democrat. Same state nearly gave us Todd "Legitimate Rape" Akin in a previous election.

He said "let me introduce my son beau..who you elected to the senate.."

Tbh the only enjoyment I take from it is to see certain posters here trying to rationalize it..

Are these the same people that claimed that he was definitely unwell before the election, suffering from dementia no less.

When you say obvious, do you mean as a medical doctor you have reviewed hours of his behaviour and compared that against classic symptoms?

What do you mean by obvious?

How did this thread slip back to the "my president is fitter than your president" and "There's 'something' wrong with Joe" posts?

Biden is infinitely more able than his predecessor physically and mentally, he's also more mentally able and much harder working than Bush Jr was. Excluding Obama, you're probably going back to Clinton and Bush Sr. for more able presidents (then skipping a decade before that...)

Biden will run in '24, he knows how to beat his most likely opponent (again) and is going to be in charge of a full booming economy post COVID.

He's also been doing a decent job, so far, of keeping the left and centre wings of the Democrats on track, much to the chagrin of everyone who said otherwise (which does leave him open to attack by the socialists on this thread).
