    So What ? :D

Classic insurance, cheap tax and no more nct after 2025 - wouldnt be a bad yoke to have in a garage for the odd sunday run.

If you have to ask the price, you cannot afford it - they always said that about RR. I would imagine for a 35 year old one, it is even truer - nothing on them is cheap.

Equally, if you can afford a Jaguar, you can afford a new one. Another marque that is heavy on upkeep.

When faced with the uncouth question of how much power did the engine produce fable has it that the answer was 'adequate' :)

201 bhp in the earlier versions, climbed to 300 bhp in the last versions around 1997. German law obliged them to put the power in German log books. :)

If you intend keeping the car for a couple of years then decent ones requiring no work are £15,000 and up. Cheapest in the long run usually.
    £10-15,000 is a lottery
Below £10,000 is usually a waste of money.

Rotting subframes and hydraulics are big money to fix. It's OK in the UK where there are plenty of good Indie garages who are very familiar with the cars, but I'm not aware of any here.

I'll chance my arm with one some day, probably once I have the house sorted. Even if I had it for 3 months and did two decent road trips for a week or twqo each, it would suffice.

The problem is they cost around a €1 a mile to drive. Which is just madness. A friend of mine has one

Hoovie's Garage on Youtube has had one in and out of the garage for nearly a year. Broke his heart with all the maintenance required and this was one he bought with a stack of verified service records.

The mineral oil hydraulic system on them seems to have plenty of problems.

They're a bl**dy barge. Not even fun to drive.

Japanese barge. Might be pricey, hard to tell as they are so rare here. NCT is out but it's done very little mileage since the last one. On the other hand they may have been to the NCT and received a big no-no. Seller should at least go to the NCT with it.

    1996 Toyota Crown. €5,750. 05/20.

I'd never touch anything that doesn't have an NCT. Not that the NCT means a whole lot, but that it doesn't have one means as you said; could have failed the NCT for something pricey.

What happens when the 3rd world dictator who used to own it decides he wants it back?

    Chomsky(2017) on the Republican party

"Has there ever been an organisation in human history that is dedicated, with such commitment, to the destruction of organised human life on Earth?"

Purchased by a Dealer on: 13/01/2021
Now being sold by a private seller. I wonder what's gone wrong since they bought it?
Maybe the dealer selling it without a warranty, though.

They're bargey in the sense they're barge-like handling wise! Wafty as hell! They're just taxis in Japan.

That being said, they're comfortable as hell and I'm longing to bring one in over the next couple of years before they disappear over there.

I’m pretty sure that Crown belonged to the owner of a Chinese restaurant in Swords until recently, an older Asian lady. It was for sale a few months ago in Dublin

If I'm correct, that Crown is located somewhere near Rathmines/Portobello area as I'm certain I see it a lot there. Always catches my eye

Looks like the price hike didnt go to plan on this one. Back down to near where it was when first listed.

I parked beside that in the Lidl car park in naas this morning, child seat in the back so appears to be in use. Looked tidy but I didn't go over for a closer look. Reg jumped oy at me as soon as I saw it.

You're correct to say that there is a crown, not to give away its location, but it's near a 94 Impreza just off the Rathmines Road. I don't know if they're the same one as that one. I think there's two in Dublin. The one in Rathmines is from the noughties I think myself and Duke posted it up here before.
