€20 million made available for mental health supports for 5 million people. €4 each. You can only laugh.

Meanwhile, to date, €5.2 billion has been spent on PUP, and rising.

Are we supposed to be grateful?

That’ll go on administration of the waiting lists.

Where can we find out about this?

Saturday 2pm on St Stephen's green and while the organisers are a bit wacky they are not radical racist types who have organised previous demos.
Their speakers and musicians are mostly hippy types. I'll be there.

I posted thee below the other day and checked them all out and I don't have issues with any of the speakers or performers:

As someone with vulnerable family and close friends I will never forget or forgive varadkar for his smirking teen movie quotes when giving his speeches to the nation.

petulant puerile egotistical rubbish from Leo at a time of unprecedented stress and anxiety.

All for a bit of social media attention.

MM is a vast improvement on him

He is incompetent to the highest degree. Who the hell voted for him after what Fianna Fail did to the country 10 years ago?

Leo makes a few blunders, but I feel a lot better when he's at the helm. Much better communication style, and at least tries to be honest at times. This Martin guy is not up to the job whatsoever. Then throw in Donnelly. No health or ministerial background, but let's make him Minister For Health during a pandemic. Then let's hire two journalists to be his special advisors. Seriously, it's absolutely baffling.

they all just strike me as bumbling substitute teachers completely out of their depth. ones as ****ing useless as the other i ****ing despise them

Surely someone needs to challenge him on his statement that the variant was like a completely new virus. What utter tosh!!

I can't believe they didn't even give some sort of a timetable to aim for. Even if it ended up being a week or two out when we get closer to the time, at least we would have something to look at.

Nothing. Just review again on April 5th. Give us something to cling to please
couldnt expect anything else from a truly awful awful government....they are so out of touch with the people now in my opinion...

I'd say he was watching independence day,
"We will not go quietly into the night". En all that,
    That was a good speech.

there is a march soon , end of the month - i think St Stephens Green . I must check out the details.

I want to state this , I don't care if it's Hitlers favorite German Shepard at the helm , I'll be there

OK, so lockdown ends and the virus is raging unchecked through the community like the UK before they locked down. Then what? How many deaths are acceptable in your opinion?

    I really hope you’re joking.

"It's equivalent to a new virus, almost."

Don’t know how he held a straight face saying that.

    A scare-mongering liar.

    Edit

    He knows.

Exactly - it doesn't matter whos organising it - at least they are doing something.

However they will only listen when the people take to the streets and unless this protest has upwards of 50k it will have zero effect.

A pissy little bunch of hippies singing wont have faze them at all.

Ah will you stop with this nonsense...

We are done entertaining this kind of codology.

We didn't surge last June when we opened up...we won't surge now, we have had our 6 week surge the numbers are hovering at about 700 cases per day, that'll drop to 400-500 in March...there will be virtually no one in hospital.

The new variant is just a new stick to whip us with, but clearly, a lot of people aren't buying this nonsense any longer.

When cases are at 200-300 a day they need to open everything up. Death is going to be a part of it, it's unavoidable. It's not acceptable to have the highest restrictions in the western world for another 2 months.

If so well that didn't really turn out to well did it?

It had nothing to do with what happened at that moment in time. I was just reading the situation.

    Disagree.

Leo used the attention to gormlessly quote high school teen movies in an attempt to achieve a few social media likes - maybe even get ten seconds on one of the late night American shows wow

    cringe worthy and unforgivable.

This argument doesn't work anymore so stop making yourself look like an idiot by using it.

    He’s not a vast improvement.
This government is a shambles and very weak. Ministers that are not good enough and clearly show a lack of respect to the people.
I’ve stuck to the rules but it’s sickens me to see this weak government not implement hard decisions on people coming into the country, meat factories seem to get a free pass.
The amount of crap coming from them over the past few weeks is astonishing.

I read posts similar to this coming up to xmas - and look what happened then?

So lets say we go with your approach, and the numbers start going up again to 500+ a day - what do we do then? 300 a day to 500 a day could happen fairly quick with a full society open
