    Don’t forget Gabriel Scally. Heard him on Claire Byrne this morning trying to reference a study from the U.K. where he stated 1 in 8 young children get ‘long Covid’.
    According to a NPHET press conference last week, guess what the symptoms reported are of long Covid in the majority...anxiety and depression.
    And guess what causes that? Covid hysteria and lockdowns. You couldn’t make this up.

    Yeah I think there will be a lot more in the same boat too

    March the 5th is three months of level 5+

    No he didn't.

    Nolan said we're now at October levels and they took 6 weeks to get down to 200 cases a day.

    Glynn said he sees some level of restrictions for the next 6 months, also said he didn't see the wearing of masks ending in that period.

    I stress the "some level of restrictions" piece, its not as if it all goes away overnight and we lift every restriction in one go

    Glynn said 6 months of restrictions.

    Which is correct. There won't be a full 3Arena or unconstrained flights to holiday destinations in the next 6 months.

    However, we can be optimistic that it won't be a criminal offence to go more than 5.1km from your home.

    I think that’s actually very ambitious. I don’t see pub free for alls, nor Coppers open, in 6 months tbh. I think some degree of restrictions, especially on closely packed crowds, will last longer than that

    Absolutely. We are now vaccinating the 80-85 group, that should be done pretty soon, then on to the 70-80s which should have their first dose (and therefore increased resistance) by the end of march. That will have a huge impact on firstly deaths, and secondly on cases. I've said it before but until vaccines schedules are firmed up you won't see people making concrete claims. I fully expect as the 3 major suppliers kick their production up, which is starting now, we will see the messaging change.

    People should be careful what they post online. Saying something that they think Ronan Glynn said isn't going to do anything but fuel people's emotions. We all know that there are a lot of angry/upset/distressed/depressed/fed up/frustrated people out there. Conjecture isn't helpful for anybody and it's ironic that RTE and the other media outlets are being blamed for misery porn. You wouldn't want to be feeling fragile when you're looking at these threads on boards.

    Very (not) clever attempt at selective quoting of my post. I didnt get to see my dad who died on christmas day 2020, so why should supposed "celebrities" get an exception.

    No. He said he wouldn't be surprised if we were still wearing masks and social distancing in six months time. We could well be level 2 restrictions in that time.

    When you talk about these doctors, you have to realize he who shouts loudest gets most airtime. If this all ended in the morning they'd be like a boyband who broke up or a boxer who's dethroned. They'd be irrelevant and have no indulgences to sell. This class of "expert" would be from the same mould that called for Galileo to be locked up, that wanted origin of species banned and laughed at William Harvey when he said the heart circulated blood round the body!! it's just sad these guys get all the screen time whilst counter points are left discussed on boards, YouTube and reddit. when you want to sell a new way of life, get your own experts in to endorse and market it for you...of course it's good for us...the doctor said so..

    Remember at one time, Doctors and experts said radium was the new supper food..it was in chocolate, baby formula and everything you could think of....
    people went to swim in radium springs.. Doctors are not god and certainly not the flock of seagulls we have over here anyway. you'd be shocked at what doctors have said was good and bad for you through the ages..this time is no different, the landscape has just changed in my opinion.
