    H. Byrne or Casey should start against Italy, absolutely nothing to lose.

I'm not getting all this hatred for JGP, he's by far the best 9 on show today

    For Ireland maybe

59% possession/territory, 100% on own line out, stole 3 of theirs, 5 penalties conceded vs 9, you'd imagine that would mean a win, but in reality we offered nothing in attack, even our try was lucky rather than made

Not many expected France to play as poorly.

I don't understand those box kicks that get you maybe 10 meters and 50/50 you will loose possession.

2 points in it at the end.

Makes a mockery of the lads who said we'd be beaten by 10, 20 or 30 points last week.

Was that due to Ireland playing well or France playing bad?

U11’s do more with the ball in hand.

On the positive Line out, scrum and forwards overall very sharp.

We should have been torn apart out the back, luckily France messed up the big chances they had.

Groundhog day in terms of attacking initiative. If the opposing team holds their discipline against this Irish side then they are quids in.

The reality is our only try came from an attempted steal at the lineout. We never looked like breaking the French defense.

Yes POM is the reason we lost today and can't win the championship. Would you cop on to yourself

We would still be in the championship with this loss if we beat Wales last week... which ofcourse was contributed to the red card.

Even worse as they were there for the taking and we weren’t even that good.

O’Mahony is the man we can thank for being out of the championship, showed his superb leadership last week.

O Mahony is some man, he is responsible for losing matches both on and off the pitch, some gob****es can't help themselves

    Played well: Porter, Ruddock, Stander

    Played OK: Hendy, VdF, Ringrose.

    Meh: Beirne, Henshaw, Earls, Keenan.

Great servant but struggling at this level: Healy

Not good enough at this level: Herring, JGP, B.Burns, Lowe.

Subs: Not very impactful bar Connors.

We have plenty of good forwards and depth in all positions bar hooker.

Not sure if Mike Catt is the root cause but our back play is pedestrian.

Shades of Declan Kidney's last years about this championship.

Gritty, tough performance from Ireland especially given the loss in personnel. Showed real character because I thought they were down and out. Ruddock and Henderson stand out performances for me.

Defences are different Utah...there will always be a weak link at Pro 14 or European level. You don't really get that at test level. We desperately need a Ferris or O'Brien type player to punch holes...as well as a scrum half and out half.

Ferris...! Be still my beating heart.

I'd have to ask, what has Catt done with this team? No power plays or tricky back moves.

The French are not as good as many like to think.

They were poor all day as were Wales last week.

He did have a mixed game.

But the nonsense hyperbole on here is ridiculously disproportionate.

    What else is new?

Just saying it was hardly an exoneration that left people eating humble pie.

Henderson is dead on there, lost the yellow card period 7-0 and lost the game by a point. Not good enough.

DuPont hit his 5 on the head while going for the try line, he passed straight to CJ and made another couple of error.

Attacking play is so poor. No invention out of the centers, beyond Ringrose stepping and slipping. Everything is so lateral. No weak side runners at an angle, no effective grubbers or dinks. Best piece of of handling was Lowe and JGP along the sidelines.

Catt needs to be given the boot.

It’s odd, I saw no real attempt at even a looping run today, why?

No inside pops, no creativity at all.

Catt and easterby are not having any positive influence....farrell is on his last legs...

France were their own worst enemies today...dont let the scoreline fool you...

That kelleher try was the luckiest you will get at test level

Dupont was trying to be too clever at times in this game

Errors for sure but also some magic

Lowe kicking himself out of the next game if Stockdale is available

Stockdale is as bad defensivey, Larmour should be starting

They are fine and a good strategy, but not in the last 10 minutes when you’re chasing the game.

Kelleher had a lot to do to get that try.

Yes he got a lucky bounce but he had to break a tackle to make it over the line.

    Completely disingenuous stuff there.

We could get wooden spooned and Farrell will be coaching us into the World Cup. There really isn't any point speculating about this kinda stuff.

I still think the penalty for the contest in the air which led to that try was dubious. Both players going for the ball, both in a position to catch it. Not sure why that was a penalty.
