What ever happens in the match I atleast plan to have a drinking game

Every time the commentary team or panel mention 3 sentences or similar I shall take a drink

    - Shaun Edwards
    - France won the u20s World Cup in 2018-2019
    - France are building for the 2023 World Cup that they are hosting

I should get nice and drunk by half time!

Come on Ireland, a win today would make things very interesting

France are a different animal then the one we faced the past few years

I don't think we'll win but hope to be surprised.

Farrell will be under pressure but unless we lose to Italy or Scotland he'll be fine. Even a loss to Scotland would probably not be enough.

He'll get a pass for last week as the blame for that loss rests squarely with Mr. O'Mahony, and France are in serious form. We've also been struck with an injury / suspension crisis which has occurred in the space of a week.

If only there was someone who had already volunteered to run the forum that could create a thread.

No...its not the last chance saloon for anyone.

All players are under immense pressure to perform, not just the 4 times capped Billy Burns.

    France by 11

I'm going with Alan Quinlan ending a sentence with 'there'. Bet I get drunk quickest.

Ah lads, give Piehead a break. Heart is in the right place. No one else got cracking, so why crucify him for starting a thread less than an hour before the game.

Didn't realise Farrell and Edwards played together at Wigan. Jason Robinson, Inga Tuigamala, Martin Offiah, Henry Paul and Scott Quinnel in that team too. What a team.

France by about 10 I think

We definitely need a bit of luck now today, a bounce of a ball to go our way or something. We've done well against France the last few games in Dublin, but this is a much better French team than previous years. Proper team now.

France are expecting us to kick a lot of ball, they've picked Penaud instead of Thomas on the wing. I dunno like, Gibson-Park wouldn't really be known as a great kicker, and Cooney takes a lot of the kicking responsibility from Burns in Ulster. I think we'll really be inviting trouble if we kick all our ball to them. I mean if you're talking about one thing GP + Burns might be able to do better than Sexton + Murray it's quicker distribution of the ball, GP from rucks and Burns will probably play a bit flatter to the line than Sexton would. I mean it's unlikely that we'll suddenly open the play book and play a running game, but if you're talking about playing to the strength of your players and weakness of the opposition team, that to me is the way we might have a chance.

    Hoping for something positive.

Despite what was portrayed here, I think we played well against Wales even after the red card.

A team picked at random seemingly( or maybe international promises).

France by 15, pace, power and great back up on the bench.

We played well when we kept the ball in hand and established a run game.

As soon as we resorted to kicking the ball, we were flatter than a plateful of piss.

Be great if Luke McGrath was on the team, a classic scrum half and a great servant as Murray’s back up when arguably he should have started. GP parachuted into his position though.

France are going to hammer out of the blocks I suspect and try to play all the rugby the first 30 mins. We are susceptible to getting a bit rattled but need to keep with them and try do a Munster Clermont on it.

    I predict
Freddie burns not lasting 40 mins. He is not able for the physical side.
France coming from behind to win by 15-20.
    Penaud to score a try.

On a positive note - wishing Billy burns all the best, I hope he performs for all our sakes!

Burns execution last week both in terms of passing and kicking were poor. If he brings a bit more composure and does the basics well he'll be fine.

Deserved a proper crack at it. Ten minutes wasn't enough to cast judgment last week, if he flops today then the knives are out.

Nice to see different half backs all the same.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?
