The old points difference... going to be difficult for us to win the 6N if both ourselves and France are level on 4 wins ;):D

This is the wooden spoon match France are going to forfeit the rest if the games. .

    Great try Italy!!

Ah that's a very harsh call

Ah. I didn't see the forward pass.

    FFS.

Getting like VAR with elbows and shoulders.

    Harsh

Don’t see that getting called the other way

    Ah that's disappointing.

Disappointing but probably the right call. I know we're cheering the underdog and all, but if that wasn't called forward against us, we'd be pretty pissy about it.

That could easily have been left as a "too close to call, stick with onfield decision".

I don't think calling it forward was the wrong call, but I certainly wouldn't call it clear and obvious from what they showed either.

Italy can feel properly aggrieved, a few times they’ve been on the wrong calls again.

As classy and brilliant as DuPont is there’s not a hope he’s continually onside.

I also thought after the Italian centre's break into the 22 early in the game Italy got blown up for holding on in a split second. France went down and scored.

The underdog seem to get the benefit of ref calls less.

Who’s the TMO, they already jumped in for a deliberate knock on by France earlier when it wa s clearly a knock on, in the tackle.

Was expecting it to be a perfect camera angle to show it as forward based on the TMO's wording, but what they showed wasn't even that great an angle to base such a confident call on.

Should be a penalty there for Italy - tackle off the ball.

The second angle was clear to me. Ball left the hand forward.

I wonder is outhalf Jalabert, related to former French cyclist Laurent Jalabert...

Maybe Jalabert is like Murphy over there.

Edit: I see the outhalf is 'Jalibert'.

Yeah. It's a real shame, but I thought it was clearly forward. You can't just ignore the rules because Italy are lovable underdogs.

Is his name Jalibert or Jalabert? If it’s the latter then no.

Great game so far. Isn't it great to see forwards taking the ball at speed instead of stationary. Amazing.

Yeah I wasn’t sure Ollivon retreated behind the back foot for that steal, they then went down and sealed off a few mins later just before they scored.

Italy look to have added a little sharpness in attack.

France haven't had to do very much and have looked vulnerable. A team that can avoid simple errors in the French 22 could have had 2 or 3 tries today. And at least 1 French score was a direct result of a needless Italian error. Hard to tell just how good France are from this. Their counter is superb, but they've been given a lot more by Italy than they'd get against the other teams.

Even the first French try, its hard to see other teams fall off tackles that badly or lose their shape in the 22 quite as badly either. Italy have gifted France a lot. What would France be like vs a team not gifting them as much? Impossible to tell...

    True.

First day out though and they'll raise their game.

    Cretin scores first.

    What a headline!

Strange interference from the tmo for the deliberate knock on, and nothing for that?
