Just wondering .. did those who purchased an e208 get the impression they were in limited supply, tough to get.

Also did you trade in against it, harder to get a fair price for a trade in I think if the dealer thinks "only getting a few of these, need to maximize margin", I know thats the way the tesla dealer works.

We traded in a 12D Renault for our 202D e208 andwe were happy with what we got. Ordered in April 2020 for delivery in the first week of July. At the time production had slowed down due to COVID, is that part of the reason I wonder?

One thing I would say on the trade in and this is probably always the case but what we found (this was our first brand new car and first EV) they seem to screw you on the trade in what they give you elsewhere (add on features or interest rate on HP etc).

Dunno what they offer for PCP as we wern't interested in that.

Not sure about full year sales, but in November the e208 was the 8th best selling EV, notably ahead of the Leaf and Niro.

translate this in to english and you'll see delivery wait times of 40 weeks.
Peugeot are only building small volumes of the e208.

so basically going to a dealer in March and expecting a car by May aint happening?

    May of which year?
You can ask but delivery date is important so don't sign on the dotted line until you have some clarity and can live with the wait.
EV world is moving so fast that a better car may have been released by the time you take delivery. The 45Kwh ID3 will eat in to e208 sales once it becomes available to order.

the 2 cars I'd thought would fit the bill were the 208 and ID3 but not been to a dealer yet , tested a Leaf last Oct, not done any research since

I'd say your best off contacting a dealer in your local market, we've seen many times that waiting periods in one country do not correlate with those in others.

    Thanks
Glad to hear you got it working, I will keep trying at intervals, it is failing at the activation of the smart phone, step 2 of the 3 part process
The rest of the app seems a bit flaky also

I have just over 50km on it so far

The car itself is great though, good craic to drive and very comfortable

Just to update on this for anyone else who runs into this issue

It seems that sometimes there are issues communicating with the car so the activation could not get past the second steo

To reset the communication you press the Peugeot and sos buttons down together for 20 seconds

I was able to complete the activation process straight away after and then it just took a few 20 minute and smaller trips to get the climate and battery functions to appear in the app

Though journeys were no longer appearing in the app so I wasn't sure the e-remote functions would activate, not sure if it is connected but they appeared in the app after I used android auto

    Ours is a 201...love it.

Summer range we can get about 300km.....winter drops to probably about 260km although this year hasn't been normal in terms of driving habits because of COVID.

We charge at home now problem, again we'd use free public chargers more but we are not visiting places we normally would with a free charger due to everywhere being closed.

FOr us, the worst bit is the app...don't use it a lot TBH but others may have a better experience.

Just had a quick scan, this (i think) is a pretty good deal for what looks like a demo, list price is €32,650 and they are selling for €29k (assuming as its second hand there are no on road extra costs, maybe there are?

Got mine in January so obviously have not put much mileage on it since

Haven't had a chance to use fast charging yet so can't help you there
Look up Bjorn's videos on Youtube, he had one for a week or two and did long range trips in it and has videos about its charging

It seems well set up for high speed charging up to 80%, it crawls after that, which seems to be the way a lot of cars are set up now so charge often but for shorter times if on long journeys

I had a few issues getting the app working and might have to get Peugeot to look at it for me as it still doesn't have full functionality
But once set up I have used the remote set for the climate control and the timed start for charging and they both work fine

It might be noted that the type of phone you have seems to impact the reliability of the app, it didn't work great for me with a Huawei phone but works pretty consistently with a Samsung since I changed handset

Given I am mainly doing short trips the car lives in Sport mode, it is a hoot to drive and there is a significant difference between the driving mode unlike some other set ups

Also to note, and it isn't dealbreaker, the 10" screen that comes in the GT model (and is optional on others) has more functionality than the regular screen and allows you to program stuff directly in the car that you need the app for with the regular screen
No big deal but nice to have (which I don't)

I was getting 77kw at an Ionity Charger on a relatively cold battery. Here she is at Ionity. 20210404_162800.jpg

As an aside we have it in blue but I love the yellow - just didn't have the balls to go with it.

having seen how fast it charges I now have confidence to travel long distances. I know if I arrive at a fast charger after driving 200km warming up the battery that I'll get another 150 to 200km in the battery in no time at all.
As I know Ionity has no problems hand-shaking I can aim for them although there are usually other high speed chargers at the same motorway service stations.

We've done trips to Cork and the Circel K at Cashel has both Ionity and ESB fast charger plus a Mcdonalds and kids area :)

    * was when travel restrictions didn't exist.

I'm not finding the blind spot detection very useful. When looking at the wing mirrors of other cars they seem to be aware of the presence of cars in their blindspot earlier than the e208.
It also isn't beeping to warn me of the speed cameras which is something I miss from the old car.

I got mine in July last year like you, had the 15k service just before Christmas. Cost €200 and no issues turned up.

Thanks, ours says a service is due at 12,500kms or early July when we got ot whichever comes first. Sitting just under 9k on the clock sl should make it to July.

Wonder why our dealer says 12,500 and yours says 15k?

We are just over the one year mark, but way down on mileage as all our travel was weekends out of town.
1 year service was ~€90 (filters, wash, checks etc.)

OK so why would one service be €200 and the other €90 ? Both with a one year old vehicle?

Different dealers simply charge different prices for same service, same with our Leaf, €130 locally or €80 half hour drive away, free economy

Fair enough - the doubling of a service on an e208 is a bigger gap than I thought there would be.

Living in South Dublin I expect ours to be higher of the two. We don't have another Peugeot service center nearby :(

Yea mine was down the country, plus I'd say is partly due to how little it's been driven this year so the only thing above the filters & checks was a software update.

    Thanks.

Speaking of software updates does anywhere here do them, with a memory stick etc in between a service?

Did the previous infotainment update (June last). Glacially slow download and clunky process, but not too bad.
I have the 7" screen, I didn't notice any real Interface update or additions so I guess it's mostly background stuff.

Jeez, €90, I'll have to price around next time :o:).

Anyone been using Tronity and ABRP for live data with their e-208?

I finally got around to setting it up and signed up for the beta to get the ABRP app to work on Android Auto. Now I just need to actually have places to go to test it :)

    Thanks

It's in Beta testing at the moment, in the Play Store you have to sign up for ABRP Beta testing down under the feedback stars.
It will be coming to the normal release at some stage.
