Marian Finucane had some number going in fairness !!

I'd prefer to wait till they release the 2020 amounts to see if they actually dropped the pay by 15% !!

Should be out in 2024 if they keep this up.

George Hamilton the best of them all. 2 weekend gigs on Lyric with local radio levels of listener numbers and occasional football commentary when RTE have a match to broadcast.

All for an unbeatable 190,000 YoYos plus.

    Madness.

If Hamilton has dropped out of the top 10 on 192,000, can you imagine some of the fees paid to some of the cheerfully useless ****ers from number 11 to 40 on the list?

Yeah. As my jaw continued to drop further and further, I think seeing George Hamilton getting 190k was the most ridiculous. it was a lot when he was doing commentary all the time, but I don't hear him on anything nowadays.

When you hadn't posted by 6pm today in relation to the fees/wages I was about to contact Premier Dairies to get you listed on the milk bottles as a missing person so to speak.

To be honest, I don't care how much an employee of a private sector company is paid in this context.

The real problem with the pay for Tubridy, Duffy, Darcy, Finucane, et al is that we all pony up for it.

To release those numbers today, in an attempt to bury bad news is truly, truly shameful.

Claire Byrne earns half of what Tubridy does. Let that sink in. Joe earns 400k for six hours work a week.

These numbers are shameful. And I won't be buying a tv licence until they get their house in order.

I want to know what Damien O'Reilly or Katie Hannon earn. Probably about 40 k. If they can stand in for Joe, is he really worth 10 times their salary?

I have seen people on here say that there is a long list not far outside the top ten money. I'd be interested to see 1-200 , no need to give names, just roles and what they are getting paid. I'd imagine it is shocking.

    40k.....!

You could triple that with no change.

If the TD's at the Oireachtas Committee which deals with RTE - Communications I think- could just ask a few more relevant questions, we might get somewhere.

Release pay/fees details from numbers 11 to, say 50.

Release a cost/benefit analysis on Tubridy, D'Arcy and Duffy:
Income from ads, sponsorship & promotion for their shows for 17, 18, 19 minus "fees" (and other production costs) for 17,18, and 19.*

RTE keep telling us that the income from these stars far outweighs the cost. Great, show us!

If at least one TD on that committee had the cop on and persistence to take this line with Dee Forbes and not be fobbed with 'commercial confidentiality', we might get somewhere with this scandal.

*Better still get an outside, independent firm to do it.

Not a chance. As I've posited previously, as Mary Wilson is No. 10 at €196,961 I would suspect that earners No. 11 - 300 are on circa €195k.

Advertising on Lahv Lahn is mostly comprised of "here's what's coming up on Ray D'Arcy", ads for the Orchestra(s), and other RTE shows.

Not a chance that show is washing it's face of Duffy's fees alone, before you include the researchers, producers and other crew etc. and the outrageous costs and fees associated with FunnyFryday.

I still think there are serious questions to be asked about the use of tax efficient contractor arrangements for the top earners.

Imagine the outcry if Tony Holohan or Paul Reid were invoicing instead of being on payroll?

Revenue have long said they were going to look into this, but being Ireland they haven't bothered their h*les.

There's two aspect here that bother me:
    1. These contractors work almost and in most cases exclusively for RTE. They are in effect full-time employees getting the benefits of a tax regime designed for companies, which again Revenue said they would examine.
    2. These companies are effectively one man or woman operations - which is entirely against the spirit of the law and something again which Revenue have for years said they will crack down on.

duze he get paid by the hour ? does he count days off for research as working daze?

So the “Stars bring in way more than the cost of their shows.”

My analogy: I’m the best car salesman in the garage. Bring in loads of dosh. The rest are below average, the mechanics, office staff etc,etc must be paid. The business is hemoraging cash like a sieve. Where does the owner go to prop up the Business. Answers on a postcard ,please.

P.S. They are a public service = not good enough. They pick their woke topics very very carefully. Not always what the general public want. Their fascination with solving Americas problems . Soft because we have no control over it.
