My statement of Liability for 2020 is not available yet. I guess you guys are talking about 2019?

For eWorking, you can claim partial expenses you incurred while working from home (broadband, heating, electricity).

For health insurance relief, its a bit more complicated. If your employer pays for your health insurance premium (which would normally be in the form of benefit in kind) you need to check the amount of benefit in kind they are paying you on your payslip. If this matches the gross health insurance premium (pre applying the tax relief), you will be entitled to claim it.

Many people get confused when their health insurance documents say that the final premium paid by the employer already has tax relief included. The employer normally ends up paying the gross premium before tax relief.

This issue that many employees have now with an underpayment of tax, will this be an issue again next year? Or will it be ok because the TWSS is gone? I'm wondering if I should start putting money aside for a possible tax bill next year.

As far as I'm aware the new EWSS is taxed at source so hopefully this won't be an issue next year

Big unexpected bill for me. I didn't really understand/pay attention to the implications of the scheme. I assumed as my take home pay was more or less the same that my taxation was more or less correct. Foolish assumption.

I can't complain at keeping my job through the pandemic but at the same time I now feel I unwittingly took a significant pay cut.

Message has changed now, it now says the SOL will be available "shortly" instead of after the 15th. So God knows when that'll be. :rolleyes:
