Not expecting to do well in a certain Warlus if Pa Salieu was the standout for Arghus from that lot... ;)

So there we have it, a comprehensive victory!
Boardsies' Sound of 2021 is Holly Humberstone. She couldn't be here to accept the award and didn't leave a message either. That's an anticlimax...

    Thanks EN

Thanks for running. Was a very enjoyable reveal.

Had four of the top five and given that I thought the other five were dirt I'm glad to see my taste isn't too far off

I did mean to who most closely matched the group but ran out of time, may well have been you with that!

    Thanks for that Nitty.
It is always interesting to see everyone's dodgy musical taste :pac:

Very speedy and enjoyable reveal EN!

And a fantastic winner... sure I would say that though, she was my number one choice... :pac:

I genuinely really liked 9 of the 10 songs though... sorry Pa Salieu fans.

Yeah, I thought 9 of the 10 were at least listenable. Bree Runway was the only one I thought was terrible - never want to hear again.

Not expecting to do well in a certain Warlus if Pa Salieu was the standout for Arghus from that lot... ;)

    All will be revealed...eventually.

But, seriously, guys if you haven't entered yet...make it happen.

    https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2058135148

Surprised there wasn't more love for Pa.

It's not what I would usually go for myself, but I appreciated that it sounded like something fresh to my ears, felt real and authentic. Isn't that what you're after really - something new and different.

I thought Holly Humberstone was like something I'd heard a million times before. To me the melody was boring, production was predictable, lyrics were whatever. A totally run of the mill pop song in my book!

But, sure, lookit, that's the magic of walrus!

Thanks for running it Nitwit. Great entertainment.

I agree with this, but to me Pa seemed very derivative. Guess it depends on your touchpoints. I did think Holly was too.

I'd argue the most unique sounds there were Greentea Peng and Berwyn, but I appreciate I'm on my own with Berwyn

    Apesh*t is a great song.
Most played song on Guantanamo Bay FM, I believe :P

Loving all the username intros by the way Nitwit...

I'd say some of them were a headache to try and rhyme

Although I should point out that Zaph rhymes with safe, not laugh :D

My 2nd place finished 2nd place, thats my claim to fame.

Great idea for the game, thanks EN, a superb host as always.

You've not heard how I say laugh :D

Damn, if I'd known that it would probably have been easier!

Berwyn reminded me of Sampha, well parts of it. Nothing wrong with the track, just didn't really grab me.

On paper, I would have expected to like The Lathums, but it just reminded me a lot of landfill indie from the noughties - the type of stuff that'd take me off the dancefloor and to the bar.

Ha ha, Berwyn did remind me of Sampha too, but I thought Sampha might be obscure enough to get away with that :D

Lathums I loved on the first listen but it was really diminishing returns. If I'd waited another day or two they'd have been out of my top five I think

I got more an 80s vibe off them- Madness with a touch of Police and the Specials.
