Are we really that bad that there’s no home grown prospects in the back row at all this season?

Crothers is the best underage BR and he is in the academy at u19.

Maybe someone like Sheridan moves to 6.

But Ulster are light on quality backrow prospects for the academy.

Well no rugby has been played, so it's a little difficult to pin down who the prospects are really. The coaches certainly have their work cut out for them. Most of the Leinster ones that were mentioned have all left school and been involved in Irish Camps, can't think of any Ulster ones in a similar boat.

Aye him, was trying to think of players who wouldn't really be in the running for Leinster's academy but might fancy professional rugby elsewhere. Liked the look of him last couple times they played. Forgot about Hernan.

I'd say Hernan or Hickey are the most likely.

Can BBC iplayer be viewed in Dublin?
I presume not without some trickery

Be pretty good going if this became a regular thing!

In fairness to John Petrie he did say on Twitter they were hoping to sort something. Wasn’t expecting anything like BBC, pretty good outcome got fans to be fair.

This is great news...there'll not be much work or homeschooling done on Friday afternoon (rarely is in fairness)!

I'm interested to see how strong we go given the seniors may not play for a few weeks.

Do any of the provinces publish tdeir sub academy lists?

    No.
Think ive only seen a full sub academy list once or twice. Munster listed theirs in programme when they played Australia in 2010 but cant recall too many other times where a province listed everyone who was in sub academy

Yet those in NI can't watch Ireland games on RTE.

Very excited to see that team. Dunno quite what Adam McBurney, Ross Kane and O'Toole are doing there, but otherwise real opportunity to see young bucks. Houston is presumably going, with Humphreys taking his place. Sexton at 15 is interesting.

He played 15 in his final year at school, very exciting backline, really looking forward to seeing how they go.

Ulster want to win and claim an undefeated A season.

So Ulster taking the Boards advice and playing Sheridan at 6. Good on them.

    We're missing a backs replacement??

Stewart presumably still injured, Houston on his way out, McIlroy resting after his spell playing interpros with the senior team (and impressing).

Allison - ruh roh. On the face of it, leapfrogged by an U19 Crothers? Maybe just not up to it? Might he be accompanying Houston out the door soon.

imagine Allison is either injured or with Houston on the way out.

Crothers is a 7, Allison would be an 8 that can play 6. He's spent too long being injured, getting a little worried for him now, he played decent in that 10 minute cameo against Leinster a year ago.

Someone pointing out on FB that there's three fellas there (Crothers, Doak, Carson) from the 19-20 year's Wallace 1st 15. Good to see.

Is that Milasinovich's first time at loosehead? Hasn't he played TH previously?

And your guy Irvine who a couple of people have mentioned recently to come as well hopefully.

Wallace have produced some good players recently

    Chris Henry
    Nevin Spence
    Jacob Stockdale
    Ian Whitten
    Kyle McCall

Three internationals and Nev would have won quite a few caps as well.

    Probably a couple of others

    Ulster A training video

    Rob Lyttle back training

Think I saw Saunderson there, not sure if him and Humphreys being there mean anything for their Ireland u20 chances.

Moxham presumably hasn't trained much with Ireland u20 being involved the last few weeks with the seniors. Hyde and Carson being fit make it a little more surprising that he's been involved so much.

Jaysus ulster are excited about this game.

With Campbell in charge i'd expect Saunderson and Egan to be heavily involved with the 20's, injury allowing.

Can't see Hyde or Carson covering wing, both are just back from injury too afaik

I don't recognise a lot of those lads.

I take it Doak is covering 10

I'm interested to see how Carson and Hyde get on.

Shame Leinster are cheating and not announcing their team until just before KO...this isn't soccer you know...
