    You can travel beyond 5km for the following reasons:

    He has a source on Southern Ireland. Must be some one in Cork.

    To be fair our case number have quickly moved to being off the charts. I don’t know when the excess swabs will flush through the system but things will get worse before they get better.

    We are likely to be in this lockdown until mid Feb - we have handled it before and will handle it again.

    He's been fairly bang on from day one about this. I remember listening to his early videos last January warning people about what was coming whilst Luke O'Neill laughed and told us not to worry on RTE TV.

    The reason people might get snippy with you is because many of us have found him a excellent source to follow since January. He’s more reliable then any news media in this country, he leaves links to his sources and he corrects mistakes he makes which is more then can be said for most media sources.

    Also, some people have tried to put him down for some reason getting very hung up on him using the name “doctor”. I’d argue he knows a lot more about the disease then most doctors and using that title if anything is doing his knowledge a disservice. You need only look at his catalogue of videos to see all the different specialists and doctors he’s spoken with around the world. If you watch you might learn a few things. ;)

    There was a large gathering in Limerick and they have been known to use hurls but not on the pitch.

    Someone last week someone here was saying "We should act as if we were frightened." That's something I refuse to do.

    The creation of an atmosphere of terror, the mandatory cowardice, anxiety, worry, reactivity etc., etc. has to be kept at a high fever pitch or people wouldn't go along with being disemployed, barred from trading, and imprisoned in their own homes.

    Meanwhile is isn't clear that locking down makes a big difference or by how much. If we knew what caused the spread we could perhaps micro-target some restrictions and get on with things. We don't - our theories of causality are dreams - so we just shutter everything except when we decide to make unprincipled exceptions for schools, social housing.

    Grim indeed.

    He seldom talks about Ireland and if he does it’s usually very brief. This was very surprising, he’s called most things right over the last 11 months!

    Basically Dr John (RN, BSc, MSc, PGC.Pharm) is saying that some people in Ireland who get severely ill from Covid over the next while who would have otherwise survived in times with less pressure on the health service will now die.
