Something is not right though, believe me 30 years of watching them you know when things aren't right. This will finish 2 nil with a mistake for Southamptons 2nd goal.

You will get a goal and once you do a couple more will follow!
    Looks different already

How in gods name was that not a penalty?

I really dont know what the rules are anymore

Liverpool had them boxed in quick with the full backs right up the field on restart.

Southampton conceded 3 second half goals to United, 4 v Spurs (one of the 5 that day was injury time in first half) and 3 v Villa so they can be got at.

Looks like Thiago might have to come off before he gets a red though.

He was about 3 yards away from him and his arms were not away from his body.

Walcott is such a poor player. Doesn't seem to have ever improved or kicked on.

I’m a spurs fan obviously but it’s embarrassing how Anti Liverpool Alan smith and Martin Tyler are on sky

How in gods name was that not a penalty?

At one stage it was, for example against Robin Koch for Leeds at Anfield or Lindelof for United at home v Palace.

Since end of September the guidance changed:
The Premier League has asked referees to be more subjective in their decision making, rather than rigidly applying the law, while requesting referees consider how close a player is to the ball when it hits them and whether a player's arm is in an "unnatural" position. They also wanted reassurance that match officials watch incidents on pitchside monitors in "real time".

They will also be asked to take into account the player's ability to react, and whether the contact with the arm blocks a direct shot at goal.

Is this the same Tyler that sounded gutted when Ings scored?

He’s on a yellow and fouled a player from behind... normally that’s gets you a yellow but I think the ref used some common sense.

Nothing new there in fairness but they are not even trying to hide it at this stage :pac:

The handball one I can understand, the one after when Mane was clipped is another thing. The defender doesn't even get the ball at all.

    Other teams get both decisions.

Love the replays of the goal. Just incase we have forgotten how the game started they keep reminding us.

First shot on target after 75 minutes, that is shocking. Still expect LFC to get at least a point here, Saints are tiring.

    TAA very poor tonight

Rough enough tackle on Milner there...not sure how that's not a foul.

Studs up didn't get the ball both feet off the ground. That's a red by any other ref.

I missed the start so was glad to see it, awful defending from Alexander Arnold. Commentators just said he has also given the ball away 38 times before being subbed off, a record of some sorts apparently.

Given the ball away more than 30 times in the game which is higher than anyone else this season so far. I wonder have all the plaudits gone to his head, could be another Dele Ali, couple of romper stomper seasons then fall by the waste side when the ego takes over.

Alison was blessed with that decision to come out

He got injured and has been struggling to recover any kind of form since coming back. Hardly letting plaudits get to his head.

Mane getting all wound up now too. Its common thing with pool players and manager they gradually get more aggressive..

Why don't you kick it harder, Valery...

    Can't claim credit for that.

Liverpool will lose this game, lose against Villa and somehow end up hammering United 4-0 and then get a few draws in a row. Consistancy completely gone from this team.

That is probably a good thing though.

Aggression can be a positive and driving quality that gives an edge, once it is not leading to bad decisions that lead to red cards for example. All the best sides have aggressive players and management.

Forester not catching anything, very dodgy keeper.

    They control aggression properly tho.
