Great, more restrictions on the responsible who have little left to give, while the irresponsible will carry on as normal and be "shocked" when they get Covid.

Any word about enforcement of these new rules?

I go to a beach too , an empty beach but I wont be going now because we all have to bloody try to get the numbers down

The outdoors is great for people's mental health.

What we need is for these idiots to be refused from hospital for non covid issues because the hospital is full of covid patients.
See how immune they are from covid when they can't get treatment for a heartattack or similar emergency situation.

Seems these people think covid patients go to different hospitals than the rest of us.

Sounds sensible that if you're a business that can operate an online-only or pickup business you can continue. This wasn't the case the first lockdown. It will encourage business to modernise rapidly and move online.

The problem with all of these restrictions is that so many people think they are some kind of special exception, or they think they're the only ones not abiding by them so it will be ok. And the amount of people who have only recently become obsessed with forest/ mountain walking is unprecedented. Before covid they all thought the mountains were a mural backdrop

And if you travel 10kms from your house and meet no-one what's the problem? I have a hike planned for 1 January, 80kms from my house. How am I spreading covid ?

My children went back to school in Sept. They've been kept in their pods of 5 consistently. There was 2 cases identified in the school but because they were on top of the protocols, there was no further spread of the virus. Children and the wider community are better served with children being in school. Otherwise they'll be spending their days hanging around outside the local Tesco.

National deaths and new case numbers/averages/percentages since the introduction of Level 3 on December 1st

5 day/7 day rolling percentage numbers have dropped indicating unreported or undiagnosed cases that would have normally appeared on 27th and 28th so still a backlog of cases due. All current case numbers are almost in-line with numbers we saw when Level 5 was introduced for October 22nd so it looks like range of 8,000 weekly cases and a 5 day average of 1,200 is the current trigger point
