I found the below quote, is it now certain that a slab of 500ml beer will cost minimum € 42.26 from Jan 11th?

"a bottle of spirits could not be sold for less than €21,
a bottle of wine could not be sold for less than €7, and
a pint of beer could not be sold for less than €2." from
    drugsandalcohol.ie

The minimum unit part isnt in effect yet just the parts on alcohol and no more loyalty points, coupons, multibuy discounts and 1-2 day only offers.

Tesco have a few offers, 3 for 20 and 3 for 25 including the Graham norton stuff. Picked up 2 bottles of moet in there today for 50 euro, had a ten euro voucher so two for €40 was excellent

Prosecco is not champagne though ha

Having a look around, I'll be drinking it on my own so 1 bottle will do

Tesco and SV have bottles of Louis D Brut for €20

Ended up getting a bottle of comte de senneval for €19.70

Might as well have something exciting for NYE lockdown

There were loads in Lidl 2 for 33 few weeks ago. I haven't seen them since Tesco had them before Christmas.

I got the Bombay Bramble for 26 roughly. I hope it's nice.

Cans are always better value i find, Bottles are so small

Don't get me started about the price of Corona in pubs (remember them ??)

The Tesco 4 for €10 offer on pint bottles of Peroni/Birra Moretti and Estrada is one of the best offers around, proper pub sizes

I just saw the ad for this on Lidl. If you buy an Angus steak you get the champagne for 14.50 or there abouts. 25% off

The Tesco Finest prosecco is excellent, it's normally 18 euro so at a tenner each or 3 for 25 it's a serious bargain.

Yes it is. I've seen them but not in supermarkets. You'll have to go to an actual proper off licence.

Tesco often show none online and I think it is just to stop people ordering loads for delivery, they want to drag people into the shop to buy other stuff.

I wonder if you can ring the local shop and ask. I would love if shops had online live streams, but of course the GDPR crap would be an issue. There might be software to stop that though.

Good value there on the 500ml Bulmers cans, not the 430ml that were in the slabs. 24 500ml cans for €25.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles to avoid the DRS fee.

I presume, if multi buy is being ousted and if a single can of guinness is 2euro, this will mean slabs will be 48 euro and no more 8 cans for 12euro deals. craft beer industry will take a big hit if the 4 for 10 quid deals go
