Very sorry that may have been me. Very sorry about my comment. It was just the thoughts of going into L5 again.

If the 5km nonsense is coming back surely they are closing the gyms as well. Doesn’t make sense than exercising 5.1km away is dangerous but indoors is not

No doubt! They’ll probably close those lethal golf courses and tennis courts as well to ensure people pile into parks and playgrounds.

In all seriousness, if they are to implement even further restrictions without having given time for the most recent to take effect, I do hope they apply some more rational and logic.

Don't take offence, these threads are populated by idiots and people who haven't leant a thing about virology or the behavior of the public.

If it were up to me I’d cancel/close:
    All Team sports
    All non essential retail
    Religious services
    Gyms
Pubs/restaurants completely closed, except Indian takeaways
Off licence only sell lager, no wine or spirits.

Because I don’t like any of those things. I like going on long cycles so no limit on travel. Everything else I can deal with.

This is basically most arguments here without considering the nuances of each restriction.

So you can travel a billion km in your car and not see anyone, it’s safe! Well I can go to a pub and have 15 pints, if there’s no one else in the pub, it’s safe!

What do you know about virology?

One of the last repatriation flights?? The rest are cancelled.

Did you read the article in the IT where they interviewed passengers on these ‘reparation’ flights? Students coming home for Xmas heading home to Drogheda was one of the travelling parties.

    Repatriations my hole.

The poster already apologised (a Boards first surely!) In fairness we are all sick to the teeth of all this shíte. :)

So what’s arriving in Dublin airport from London at 11.15 tonight?

    Probably more mutant COVID strain....

Probably just me but, did George Lee seem happy on the news there?

He had a smirk on his face

Santa Claus? In other news great to see some folks going for the bury my head in sand approach. "I'm grand, fvck everyone else" Being asymptomatic is great for you not so good for people and families you interact with and who may not be as lucky as you. Brightside being that it'll keep case numbers down but won't keep hospital numbers down. I don't think they understood "we all have to do our part to keep numbers down " correctly.

I’d very simply send a bill for the economic cost of the test if you couldn’t be arsed turning up for a scheduled test - €180 invoice in the post.

If that’s FR271 you’re on about it’s an empty Ryanair plane that operated the outbound flight to London with passengers on board returning empty.

I was only trying to have a little fun there. No offence was taken or ever will be :)

Wasn't me who got it right but my friend, she's the one who told me

A damn sight more than I did 9 months ago.

Plenty on here are wilfully ignorant and happy to be so.

Why. I agree with restrictions but the 5km rule does not help anyone at this time of year.

And neither does you going for a drive. But it could potentially harm someone.

We should defend our way of life to an extent that any attempt on it is crushed, so that any adversary will never make such an attempt in the future.
