Oh dear, missteps from Luke and Alex. Alex took on too much this time.

Bart could have to cook off again too.

Im half way through. That was Bart's wake up call, I reckon!

Well done Philly though, she done good.

On a side note - if i die and go to heaven, I want Bart to come and cook for me!

That was Bart's first cook off wasn't it?

I think he'll go onto win it

I don't know anything about professional cooking but Alex's dish with all the onions seemed weird. I dunno why anyone would want so much onion on one dish.

Someone different did similar in round one where he had like 4 different types of carrots. Seems a bit much

I wonder how Bart would do in a commercial kitchen. He seems to have spent a sizeable amount of time as a personal chef or on boats. Spending time on a few meals to a high standard my just be his forte. Idyllic lifestyle though.
Would love to be rich enough to have him as my home chef.

He has to be the stand out favourite. I'd say the judges would tolerate one minor slip up on the route to the overall final.
TBF - I like them all - except Jonno. Complete tw@t.
Philli got her strong suite (and others weak suite) just at the right time.

Just watched last nights. Aw I liked Luke!

  • Registered Users Posts: 587 ✭✭✭twill

This is difficult to watch, they're so uncomfortable with the challenge.

Jono may have gone a step too far...... it all looked fairly unappetising!

    Oh Victor! Explosion!!

Think I've fallen a bit behind.

I love Dave! He's just straight up, honest. Love the attitude.

I can't imagine anything I'd like less than cooked beef topped with raw beef

Jono is a complete arrogant tw@t.
Imagine what he is like off camera.

All I can think of is "fk off Jono"!

Has to be one of the least likeable characters on this in a long time!

The texture of that tiramisu looked horrible!

  • Registered Users Posts: 587 ✭✭✭twill

Bone marrow creme brulee and mushroom tiramisiu. He's on a quest to destroy desserts, it seems.

Glad for Dave. I don't see him winning, but he did well today.

I think it looks like a straight fight between Bart and Dickhead. Not sure about Santosh as he seems to fall back onto Nepalese style too often - although his food does look fantastic.

Don't rule out Alex either. The judges love him

I was thinking the same until I saw the big guns having to cook off again last week.

Don't rule out a few surprises.

Love Bart! I like Dave-hes quite personable. Jono reminds me of Michael O'Hare, the chef on the great British menu. Talks the same and the same dead pan expression. Maybe he is his muse :)

The girl is going through I think

    Beef fat ice cream !!
    Puke.

  • Registered Users Posts: 587 ✭✭✭twill

Wow, that was some suspense. I was wondering if Jono had pushed it too far.

    His desert looked awful...
    Delighted for Santos...

Can't say I'm sorry to see Jono go; came across as very arrogant and that dessert looked like a mystery meat roast wrapped in tinfoil that was forgotten about at the bottom of the oven for a week. I've never seen anything so unappetising on MasterChef.

He's been getting good comments so he's obviously doing something right, but man I cannot warm to him at all.

Catching up now..... I've finally figured out who Dave reminds me of.... Ronnie O'Sullivan! That same slightly manic, slightly genius intensity.

Santosh I think will have a heart attack before he'll ever win the final.

Delighted to see Philly go straight though (have to have a little bias towards the only girl still standing!).

And for me, Bart is still the man to beat..... although they seem intrigued by Jono's bonkers ideas, so who knows, he might bamboozle them into submission.......

So, back to the four classic desserts here..... g'wan the BFG's!!! My all- time favourite!

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,814 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Can't say I'm a fan of a heap of metal on top of my desert.... I'd be scraping that off if it was served to me in a restaurant (which, obviously, it never will be!).

A dot as touch of garnish looks pretty..... completely covering a cake in it, when it adds no flavour whatsoever....?? No thanks!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,814 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

OMG, I was NOT expecting that for a result!!!

I heard you cooked that stuff with the metal every day ?

You need to work on your presentation though.

The presentation for Johno's dessert looked awful but they didn't say anything to him about it but called out Dave and Santosh. Johno didn't come across as bad in the semi though, he was pretty gracious in not getting through

It's some going by Santosh, he struggled quite a bit in the challenge in the very first round and could easily have been knocked out.

All 4 remaining are all likeable and would be happy for any of them to win it
