It actually is true. No matter how much you want to deny it.

Not officially given to bars yet which Is a joke but the independent posted yesterday that food time limit and amount at table the same. Also cant book in xmas partys and live music banned

Horrible about the live music, I was in a bar during the summer and they had a live band but they were away from everyone and the music was played through speakers throughout the pub, was really good idea. Also had a digital temp check on going in, don’t think they ever had a case there. Very well set up.

This country is actually sick, I’m just thinking what would u expect from a country who make owning ur own home completely unachievable for so many people. Pretty sure it’s the only country in the world where u cant live in a mobile home permanently as alternative to traditional houses. My parents have a mobile and id happily live in that permanently but only open certain months of the year.

Over the summer the pubs remained closed when cases were 10-20 and deaths below one, so I don't hold out much hope.

Yeah that’s true. Pubs just aren’t essential. High on the list of businesses to close and low on the list of businesses to reopen.

But with vaccines being given to a good chunk of the vulnerable people by then, they might change the approach.

By summer your expect that all the over 65s, and maybe more, will have had the vaccine - apart from the ones who are too clever to take a vaccine. So that will cut the sickness and death rate considerably.

So only stupid people take a vaccine ??

What a pathetic post. Truly dumb.

Yes I really cannot wait for that day, when u can just walk in and order a drink. I did get the opportunity to do that in a pub over the summer and it was great.

Lol. No, it was tongue in cheek. What it means is only dopes are anti-vax. And over the next few months there will be plenty of people who start sentences with “I’m not an anti-vaxxer, but”. Bit off topic for now but will become relevant when the vaccine is being rolled out.

You can apologise in your own time.

No I must do so now - I totally misread you and I am sorry.

Bizarre to see videos on social media this morning of the huge crowds queuing outside Penney's in Limerick. Little to no social distancing.
And they say the pub's are the problem.....

indeed, but you know yourself Dr Misery wont hear a word of if, it's in fact pubs are extremly high risk and that's that, no proof will be given.

Looking for logical consistency during this farce is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

“The man who lies to himself can be more easily offended than anyone else. You know it is sometimes very pleasant to take offense, isn't it? A man may know that nobody has insulted him, but that he has invented the insult for himself, has lied and exaggerated to make it picturesque, has caught at a word and made a mountain out of a molehill--he knows that himself, yet he will be the first to take offense, and will revel in his resentment till he feels great pleasure in it.”- ― Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov

I hour 45 mins time limit and have to have food.

I believe the time limit does not apply if a distance of 2 meters can be maintained between tables.

I think the argument would be that you'd be adding the pubs on top of that.

This is the perfect example. If these people are going to be queuing outside Pennys with "little to no social distancing", the exact same thing will happen in pubs with no restrictions.

Exactly the same as when people are saying "Pubs should be open because house parties are happening".

Pubs aren't the problem, people are!

Myself and my mates started putting a bar together at the back of one of our mates house at the weekend. Will have it sorted for the All Ireland hurling final. Looking forward now to a few pints out there over the next few weeks and months until the proper pubs open. Will be be only a handful of us out there at any time

Everywhere I’ve booked already say ur table is required back after 1 hour 45 mins. But i would like to come across a place doing the above but don’t think il find it in Cork city.

is there a rule against say a group of 4 consecutively booking slots in one place?

What do you mean there's no time limit this time, you just need to spend €9 on a meal and you can stay and drink your face off.

but,but we have quite strong evidence of superspreader events, with the TYPE of goings on we have in wet pubs...

    unbelievable

incorrect, only if the pub has tables 2m apart. can confirm every pub ive rang in Swords has 1.45 as they would have had to reduce capacity.

Can't blame you at all for going down that route. Walter Mitty out of Melbourne/Mullingar would be inquiring after your name and registration. Long may he/she/it vegetate in the squalid bedsit.

The solution... we all have a kitchen at home so bring your own healthy correct portion meal. No reason why we cant have pubs open outside at least.
