Just going down memory lane. My first BTC purchase...

I wish I'd tracked my btc and eth purchases, though my ledger tells me I'm up 400% I don't know how reliable that is

Not too far off you there with a 0.5 BTC purchase. My first ETH purchase was 2 ETH for £7.71 (was a UK based semi-p2p place).

    LOL :D

How much did that 13 BTC set you back and more importantly, how much of a schmoke did you get for it?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,543 ✭✭✭Dante7

I think it was about €250 or €300 and I got less than an ounce from the Czech Republic I think. I wouldn't mind, but I was living in Coolock at the time and could have walked to the corner and got it cheaper. But it was the novelty and the challenge. It wasn't easy to get BTC at the time. I had to jump through several hoops.

Think ETH has a bit to go

Lot of people looking at it thinking last time BTC was this high ETH was much higher

ADA firing on all cylinders aswell

Too many big banks out there with wild predictions of 80k 140k Bitcoin prices
They’re just trying to get fomo going so they can dump on them

I think once BTC hits low 20’s next year maybe in April/May we could see a big retrace before the next leg up for the big run

I feel for you, had stop loss with 2/3tds of my xrp set at 0.24 the other night, woke up and couldn't believe it had been triggered... bought back in at 0.38 but had lost about 5k xrp in the process of buying back in... was ouch... there was some kind of quick flash crash about 5pm a few days ago

There's an upcoming XRP fork which probably explains this run

You will get dumped on. It's what XRP does. Aim for dumping your bags minutes after the Flare fork.

What's the consensus on the best place to hold your XRP so you're captured in the snapshot? Mine are on binance but as I understand, they're not participating. Is that right?

End to end encrypted Bluetooth so you can pair it to your phone.

    More suitable for regular trading.

More Wallets can be stored on the Device

The S is fine if you only want to Hold a few coins long term.

dont think binance are in yet, they might but loads of other exchanges participating
If you have a Ledger, you can set up on that
Uphold is another one and they are in talks with Kraken

If someone has a S already and is fine with it, not point in upgrading (main reasons to upgrade would be to be able to transact with a smartphone or if the person is hitting the max number of coins).

If it’s a new purchase, I’d say don’t be cheap and go for the X. It has the additional features and is also newer which means it probably will be supported for a longer period.

That might be a big intermediary step it terms of making crypto a credible means of payment.

I agree. Naturally, paypal are doing this for their own purposes but that doesn't mean that it won't help bitcoin out into the bargain (over the short term). Over the longer term, I don't want to see anyone using the paypal platform when it comes to btc.

Yeah the S works fine for me as I hold so few coins and I'm in it long term

This has a bigger impact for the price of Paypal than it does crypto.
The majority of square's profits have been derived in processing BTC transactions in the past year. Should do plenty for Paypal bottom line too.
